I would suggest forcing your machine to use Directshow as its default Decoder on a Windows MAchine.
You will find info on forcing Directshow and the registry script to do so here:
serato.com ( It is in the Getting Started - How can I use QuickTime as the default decoder for Video-SL on Windows? ) The reg script to force Directshow is there also.
Have you downloaded and installed the recommended codecs from here:
We recommend using both of the following codecs for DirectShow for use with Video-SL:
* FFDShow
www.free-codecs.com
* Haali Media Splitter (MatroskaSplitter)
haali.su
Use the defaults when installing.
Note: If no codec is found, then QuickTime will be used to decode the video.
