Hi,

I am totally pumped about SSL V2.3 having support for the CDJ850's I just bought a few months back.

Got everything hooked up and working fine, just seems to be one issue. There is a severe delay on the CDJ decks. I have also tried hooking up just one to see if that made a difference, but still a very significant delay but not as bad. My Mac only has 3 USB ports, so I am using all three for this setup (SL3 hardware, CDJ 1, & CDJ 2). There seems to be no effect on SSL even though the players are showing the lag. The CDJ lag shows in the virtual platter, timers, etc.. Scratching seems to be pretty good, even thought the virtual platter on the CDJ's are barely moving.

Not sure if this is a common issue, but I sure hope there is a easy fix because I love using the controls from the CD players and the text read out!

The pioneer players show version 1.0 on them. Not sure if that is the latest, and if not would you know how I would update them?

My MAC is brand new, 16MB memory, I7, etc..

Thanks..

Well here is a link for the most upto date firmware for the CDJ-850 ----> www.pioneer.eu

The display lag issue on the CDJ-850 has been reported alot and looks like a bug, Don't know if this needs SERATO or PIONEER or even BOTH to fix this issue. There have been some people who use a hub and it works fine for others only one will work fine, another user said his worked fine on a Intel core 2 duo but did not on his intel i-series. So no solid info on what and where the display issue lies.

Thanks LJ. I will look into the firmware update for the 850! I actually started with a HUB but then even tried just using the available USB ports without any difference. Only when using just one side it worked pretty good, but still a slight lag as compared to the CDJ playing a regular CD when looking at the virtual platter display.

Any feedback from the higher up's at Serato??

I actually went to the pioneer link from LJ and found this:

For connecting multiple CDJs to a Mac, as well as designating them as audio output device targets for your supporting DJ software, you will first need to set up an aggregated device. This can normally be accomplished by using Audio MIDI Setup, a utility which comes bundled with Mac OS X. We have provided an alternative program called CDJ Aggregator, which simplifies this procedure to a single click.

Please also download the instruction manual and read through it before installing the tool.

This tool is not necessary for Windows users because Windows CDJ drivers support audio output to multiple devices. Please be sure to install and use the Windows drivers corresponding to your CDJ device.

Does this make sense for MAC users?
