I was just wondering if you could add a night/day mode on scratch live same as you guys did for itch 2.0 wherein if using the program at day i myself or anyone here won't be having a hard time looking at the computer screen because of bright environment and also at dark environments like in clubs etc..just a suggestion though..keep up the good work all of you guys in rane/serato :) thank you so much :)

If you own a mac you have the option via system preferences, or by a simple keyboard shortcut, command+option+control+8 keys. This will change the contrast thus giving you a daylight look that works. If you're pc, I don't know that side.

You can do this on Windows 7 too (not Vista or XP though), see here... Watchwww.youtube.com

Hello peeps is there anyone working to get the day display mode for Windows Vista or is there a work around? I have some back to back outdoor gigs this month and the regular is like heck to see. Thanks

Doing the color inversion thing on a mac isn't exactly the same as a "day mode", it certainly helps in viewing the library but the waveforms get inverted too. That's kind of a hassle given that the low frequencies and high frequencies come out specific colors, so when they change it's more of a nuisance than a help.

I think what they need is just a quick little button in the left hand corner that is called "invert" and utilizes the features of Windows 7 and the Mac OS.

I'm surprised there is no cutom colour mode. If they implemented it like Adobe Audition it would be cool and probably work fine. I wouldn't mind a darker Maroon look myself, to match my now retired Ecler Hak 320. I could see many people going with blue or red to match their control vinyl etc.

and one more vote for that. loving itch for that.
maybe even some more. maybe even the options to edit some basic colors. not to make it look like a toy but just a few basic color options for the users

If they even had 10or so pre-made color packs to choose from, this way you could match the control records etc.

btw on a contrary matter i could really live with a single color wave form. or at least a switch to turn the rainbows off :-P

I wouldn't mind being able to turn the rainbow off either on my skratching record. Good call

++++ on all the custom color, or at the very least, day/bright mode.

If they don't change the night mode.
I never want SL to like ITCH. I don't like that "button style" and the blue color.

I understand for a company to expand outward towards newer customers is a good thing, however some of the basic features people have been asking for in SSL just got pushed on the back burner. Yes I agree that Serato added some features through the years, but Serato know's mobile DJ's use Serato just as much as the club jocks and it seems to me that in Seratos eyes the want to lean SSl for club use, otherwise this feature would have been implmented by them by this time. IMO.

yea, all they need to do is add color templates. VDJ has had it for-EVER. So why not give SSL users the option to customize our look?

From what I can remember it is falling on the deaf ears of serato. The Only statement from nick (from serato) was "A day mode in SL is definitely something I want to see happen)" not to optomistic since it was posted last year. Drag Drag Drag................... till 2013

It's no surprise. I love Serato but I'm thinking about going back to Traktor or trying something else. In UK they use a DVS called SPIN+….I tried it and it's pretty dope. Think of a program midway between serato and traktor.

Nope, we really don't. We use Serato or Traktor like everyone else...

I meant to say they HAVE another DVS. DJ ANgelo from Reloop uses it. i tried it out and i like it. Just letting people know there are other options that they can explore.

They (Serato) don't monitor all of them. This issue has been going back and forth with Serato for a while even before this thread. I hope they will add the day/ night mode mode to SSL, but I highly doubt it. All we can do is hope serato does.

I am starting to loose respect for Serato and Rane for other reasons as well.

If your using a mac.. try pressing [control-alt-option-8] at the same time.
This will invert ALL colors. I don't use it because it throws off my color coded cue points and everything else. Also good for improving visibility of faint beat markers.
If this keyboard shortcut doesn't work make sure the shortcut is enabled in your system preferences>keyboard>keyboard shortcuts

@kccw: Unfortunately i'm not using mac even if i was using mac it would be a hassle like what you've mentioned it will invert even the cue points so its not a good idea :)

Yawn!! this issue has been around for a long time and Serato still hasnt addressed the issue for Day/Night mode on a PC.

thinking of the new Serato DJ that doesn't have day mode anymore i'd be even more surprised to see it for SSL. however i'd just as much like to have it as when i posted here first :-)
