Hi there,

I m using controller like the lpd8 or the traktor x1 to control the efx cue points and stuff.
Sometimes it happens that the USB from the controller slips out (at the controller device).
Then I have to close & reopen scratch live that the midi-controller will function again.
Is there anyway to let the device function without closing/reopen scratch live?

Unplugging and re-plugging the USB device should work.

Or if you have the MIDI Preset saved in the Set-up screen, you can probably just re-load the preset, that should work too.

But overall, you should really find a way to stop the MIDI usb from disconnecting...

no. tryed this 2 things already - diddnt work.

The USB connector inside the kontrol x1 is a bit too loose.
The only way is to use a bit gafatape...

Are you really using the 222 version with an SL3? Does the 220 version make a difference?
fu 8:34 AM - 21 July, 2011
i tryed version 2.1.1, 2.2.0, 2.0 ....
if the connection is lost, i habe to restart...
:(
where can i download 2.2.2? if i use the regular downloadpage i only get 2.2.0?
btw.: thx for ur support

I wouldnt recommend using the 222 version. Its not for the SL3.

What if you try the 2.3 BETA - just for kicks.

Does it make a difference?

See here for download: serato.com

no difference...

Anybody who knows this Problem or anbody who test it and has not this Problem?

Tryed the same thing with the traktor from my friend - no problem.

Sounds like a bug. I would post it in the 2.3 BETA section.

Again, none of your USBs should be disconnecting in the middle of your mix anyway..
fu 6:22 PM - 21 July, 2011
You mean a bug just on my system?

and yes i m deffnetly being very careful while playing. But on the other hand i do a lot of movements (drumming with cuepoints etc) ...
I m playing like every weekend so sometimes it plugs out. Than I play 1 record or cd an meanwhile restarting the program.
btw. the USB-plugin at the sl3 box is perfect and tight :)

No i mean a bug with that MIDI controller and the Serato Software.

I guess your MIDI Folder can be corrupt aswell. You can try deleting it and remapping your MIDI devices. That might help.

But to me it just sounds like you need to keep that USB cord plugged in and the problem will be solved.
fu 9:44 PM - 21 July, 2011
do you know anybody with the same setup?

We have some X1s here but theyre not HERE HERE at the moment. Someone took them to a show. But I can test when they get back.

Did this help?

hmmm remapping is a lot of work.
So I copied the folder - deleted it - tryed - same sh** - copied back ...

I can wait for ur test. That would be fantastic.

Copying wont work.

Why not just remove the MIDI folder, remap 1 action, disconnect the X1, plug it back in and see if that one action still works?

Then after you are done - put the original MIDI folder back.

if there is no midi folder the program is kind a buggy.
There is no "midi" in the setup. tryed also to instal new after deleting.
The bigger problem now is that (after copy back the midi folder) just my oldest scratch live version is running correctly (2.0.0). this is getting crazy..
I think now i have to delete the whole serato folder :(

My question is again : " has anybody with any kind of midicontroller the same probs?"
cause in the past i had the lpd8 and the dicer and the same problem..
fu 9:04 AM - 22 July, 2011
Now it is getting a real horror trip!
2.1.1 or 2.2.0 is not running (same problem : sl3 is connected but the program says "disconnected" ..)

tryed everything: deleted the whole serato folder - new instalation etc.

Oh my god. I need 2.1.1 ...

2.0.0 still running but kind of buggy too.

never had probs like this (using serato now since the first box came out).
fu 10:36 AM - 22 July, 2011
oh my god! fixed the horror trip!
Sorry but to instal the beta version was not a good suggestion.
Many People had/have the probs after instaling the beta version.
fixed it by uninstalling the cor audio driver....

ok, back to my Question:
"Has anybody with any kind of midicontroller the same probs?"
Cause in the past i had the lpd8 and the dicer and the same problems ( i tryed to use both at one set and so i had to change/disconnect-connect them)
fu 10:53 AM - 22 July, 2011
wow!
so here is a new test result:
Installed serato and the x1 on my PC.
Here I can connect & disconnect USB and its still working!
So this is what i want on my MBPro...
Is it a MAC Problem?
Rane, Support
RafaelM 4:23 PM - 22 July, 2011
DO you have another MAC you can try? Or can you try it on a friends MAC? Does the same thing happen?
fu 5:29 PM - 22 July, 2011
test result 2:
Indeed. it is a mac Problem. Its the (OS X) MIDI-Setup application.
in this case the Application cant recognize that the controller is unpluged.
pluging the controller (after unpluging) again in, makes a new "virtual" controller device in the MIDI-Setup - and this is the main Problem. you have to "reset" the Application with opening an other configuration (a custom/new config you made before).
I tryed new drivers etc. to fix this Problem but with no success.

wicked sick!
