you mean Dicers by saying "novation"?

i have not tried that,
but you definitely can use two pairs of dicers for four decks.

i think what you want to do is possible.
set the primary decks to be 3 and 4 in the setup, then the first pair of dicers you connect will control decks 3 and 4.
the hc1000s will still control decks 1 and 2, which is in my opinion a bug, but in your case it is useful:

now you have hc1000s for decks 1 and 2, and dicers for track 3 and 4

As the guys say, getting 'native' control for these devices on secondary decks isn't currently in the specification for either device. However, we'd love to see extended functionality for these ourselves, and are working on ways to do this easily and elegantly... But for the time being, check out radikarl's workaround.

thanking all the fellow djs..... i am gonna try the dicers as an addition to the Denon HCs1000s. What do i have to lose? i dropped $800 for the SL4, whats another $100?

HELP HELP!!! i got the novation dicer connected as well as the denon hc1000s connected........ok.... now how does 1 midi control just the CDJ......and the other midi control the 1200s.

I tried the same thing, but I could only get 1 midi control assigned in the setup screen.

dicers control always those two decks, which are configured "primary" in the hardware tab of your setup.

now connect CDJs as decks 1 and 2 and turntables as decks 3 and 4

alright radikarl, i have it happening now. 2 other things: 1. the Dj Handover....i have a second pc connected and with the latest software from Rane, and is connected to the SL4 without a hub....I do not see my crates at all on the other pc. AND.... my denon hc1000s is not illuminating except for the TAB buttons.

well a little changed has been made in the setup. 1. ditch the dicers! 2. need to buy second denon hcs1000s. 1 laptop for the 12s. 1 laptop for the cdjs. seems easier. god knows i have enough monitors happening in this room.

Your 2nd PC - have you got your music Library over there? Or have you moved your library over there?

On the HC1000 - are you in Scene 1? (Ie. hold down SHIFT and press FILES to enter the native preset with illumination).

second pc has a CLONED library of the 1st PC on a separate external harddrive. yeah i dId the SHIFT/FILE. sometimes it works and sometimes it don't. I have unplugged the usb from the 1000s to make it work right. tiny glitch.

Non the 2nd PC, do you have the following folder:

Music > _Serato_ > Subcrates

And this has files in it?

ok here is the latest and there is only 1 problem. there is a denon hc1000s on 1 laptop dedicated to turntables and works perfectly. the other denon hc1000s is on another laptop dedicated to CDJs. scrolling works and the pc can see the hc1000s, there is total response except for 1 tiny thing>>>>>>>>WILL NOT LOAD. i can go to a song that is not "green" load both sides on the hc1000s and the song then turns green. But i see nothing happening on the screen. The load does not happen. I do have the CDJs setup as "primary". HELP HELP HELP SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR!!

Do you have the 'Lock Playing Decks' option enabled in the Setup screen of Scratch Live?

yes i am in REL mode. shift/file does nothing.

Does pressing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc trigger Cues on your computer keyboard?

cues 1 2 3 4 5 work and so does the load. the hc1000s sees the cue settings "illuminated". But pressing the preset cues on hc1000s have no response.

well i give up, it looks like i will be using my odyssey illuminated keyboard for the CDJs and the existing hc1000s for the turntables, i have gone around and around i am hearing that YES you can do 2 hc1000s on the SL4 and then i hear only decks 1 and 2 will work. So guitar center will be giving me back $160. i thank all those who helped but maybe i was asking for too much control. And if anyone is wondering.... I did call denon and i did do the firmware update. To no evail.

OK - well, these are made for 2 deck controls in mind, but there will be more functionality in the future, so maybe keep an eye out for developments.
