upon opening serato itch, the itch software as well as the ns7 load fine, both decks work, all buttons work, as soon as you load a song and play through about a minute the MIDI light in the top right corner of the screen keeps blinking and the music cuts out and then about 5 minutes later the decks reset themselves and the CUE and PLAY buttons start flashing when the decks are now abl to be used again... however the midi light keeps appearing and a drop out occurs shortly after you load a tune again

i tried many different methods of installing itch software and drivers for the ns7

i did a system restore and still nothing

i have a hp laptop running on PENTIUM DUAL-CORE CPU T4300 @ 2.10 ghz
4 gb RAM, 64 bit windows VISTA

i attempted to update and trouble shoot all other drivers i thought would be the cause of the issue [usb port drivers, audio drivers, etc]

the only other thing i can think of that may be causing this problem is either the FIRMWARE of the NS7's or the DRIVER[S] of the NS7, or even an improper installation of serato itch... it could quite possibly be ASIO drivers not properly loading and causing my soundcard, usb port, or CPU to overload

either way im sure its SOFTWARE related because at one point i was able to play BOTH decks at once and LOOP one of them without it crashing for about 5 minutes...

im certain its not my ns7's that are defective because i tested my laptop on the stores ns7 in which i bought MY ns7 from

PLEASE help me find a fix to this problem, I DONT want to have to end up BUYING a new pc just for this issue

one of your tech support guys were very rude and did not want to try any troubleshooting methods becuz he was CONVINCED that my computer is "under specs"...

the computer is less than a year old, i have PLENTY of room for storage on my hard drive still [over 100 GBs].... it has a descent sound and graphics card, descent amount of ram and everything else seem to work fine with other demanding softwares [FRUITY LOOPS and SERATO SCRATCH LIVE working PERFECTLY FINE with my pc].... 100 megahertz under the 2.2. ghz specifications SHOULD NOT cause as fatal of a drop out/crash as what is occurring now

i have tried messing around with usb buffer through itch software but it hasnt done me any good either

Hello just to double check as this requires good USB bandwidth other programs do not have you tried updating your OS, Drivers and BIOS?
BLAZE LA DNB 420 7:11 PM - 15 April, 2011
By updating OS, do you mean updating it with WINDOWS UPDATES?...

I noticed the ns7 MIDI and USB audio drivers never install properly. I also noticed upon updating the ns7 drivers, the MIDI driver will stay at version .3 while the USB audio device will update to the newer .13 version driver. Cud this have something to do with it ?

how can I update bios? Through manufacture website correct?
BLAZE LA DNB 420 9:48 PM - 15 April, 2011
Bios is up to date... Graphics card is up to date.... All ns7 drivers are up to date

Midi light keeps goin off. Runs fine for about a minute then starts flashing the midi light

I'm getting sick and tired of your buddies at numark trying to tell me my computer is "under specs"

2.10 ghz processor opposed to the recommended 2.2 ghz processor shud not be causing this sort of issue

It HAS to be software related. Definitely would like to try to get a hold of SERATO techs Please. They seem to know much more regarding the SOFTWARE SIDE if I need help with my hardware then I'll contact the numark techs (although no offense to u sbangs, but the other two technicians I spoke with were A$$HOLES)... At one point this guy Jason actually got an ATTITUDE problem with me and then tried being all nice n saying if I ever need help to contact him. YA F***IN RIGHT. HES LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO KEEP MY COOL BUT I STILL PLAN ON SPEAKING WITH THE HEAD OF THE TECH SUPPORT DEPARTMENT AND LET THEM KNOW EXACTLY HOW "PROFESSIONAL" THEYRE TECHS ARE

so close to saying F**K NUMARK

they tell me my computer is under specs when its a 2.1 [minimum specs for vista 64 bit is a 2.2 processor]

my friend who has an ns7 running on windows 7 64 bit has a 2.2 ghz processor [MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS FOR 64 BIT WINDOWS 7 IS A 2.4 GHZ PROCESSOR]

if he is .2 ghz under spec and runs it cleanly without any drop outs whatsoever, how is it that my 2.1 ghz processor [being only .1 ghz under spec] is causing all these problems for me?

this is exactly why i question the intelligence of the two numark tech support "specialists" i spoke to

there is not a BIG difference in the processor speed between my pc and the minimum requirements so i REFUSE to believe that my PC IS THE ISSUE

its got something to do with either the operating system or some sort of interference with the USB bandwidth

seems like the tech support agents blame it on our computers because its an easy excuse for tech support to come up with just so they dont have to help us with troubleshoots

the head of numark will definitely hear from me as he is pretty close friends with the guy who owns the shop in which i bought my ns7 from

so if i continue to be ignored and shunned by the numark tech support agents then i will definitely take matters into my own hands and make sure each and everyone of the numark tech support agents get chewed out by the big dog

I get the blinking midi on my software as well and the temporary crash. I started a discussion on here and have heard nothing back from any techs. It really sux during gigs. I can usually hear people making comments during the crashes.

That seems to suggest a USB conflict with another device. Are you able to give us a call and we can take a peek at your system directly.
