I once fell asleep at the white castle drive thorugh. It was 5 am after a gig in NYC...The guy came out and banged on my window. Needless to say I nearly crapped myself. I love White Castles but when you eat them at 5 am you will be rudely awaken at about 8 - 9 am. That stuff is a killer....No better after party food ever.

Rally's back in day day were tight but In-N-Out is one of a kind but White Castles are classics Long Beach had a couple back in the 70's but by the time I was born (1984) they were gone cause cali people like things bigger so the business wasn't what they expected which is why you still find white castles back east. Now I'll tell you a great burger place was Mr. J's in Long Beach by Wilson High School, placed closed down like in 93-94 cause a car went through the building and took the kitchen with it. Another good spot was Ruth's Country Kitchen (Best Teriyaki/Mushroom/Bacon/Swiss burger in Long Beach).

No comparison! In N Out is it. White Castle is only good at 3 am when you are broke and unconcerned with the gastrointestinal consequences you will receive the next 12 hours!

i have had the honor of trying white castle after being raised on in n out. i went to chi town and i must say... white castle is no where in the same league as in n out. you seriously have to try both before making a judgment... if you go to costco and try the frozen white castles, they taste identical. not bad if you have the munchies. but in n out kills it... really.

White Castle is overrated. Their burgers in the restaurant taste EXACTLY the same as the ones you can buy in the frozen section at Wal Mart. There should be no reason to drive out of your way to a White Castle when you can get the same thing at the grocery store.

I live in a suburb of Dallas, Tx called Mesquite. I'm baffled by this, but there are 7 Sonic's in Mesquite. I can get to all of these Sonic's in 7-10 minutes. I don't understand why there are so many here. I pointed this out to a buddy of mine and he didn't see it as being anything different.

I love White Castles. I don't like the Hella-fied gas after eating them. I think it's the onions. There is a place here called Krystal's that is in a nearby suburb that has the same burgers. Normal hour sober Castles are nothing worth talking about. I agree 1,000,000%. But from the hours of 2AM to 4AM and toased, there ain't nothin' better. After 4:30 - 5AM you should hit up the diner, the ext day is shot so you might as well sit down and eat. Pizza Burger & some Disco Fries, cup of coffee and 3 glasses of water. Na'mean?
