Regarding
serato.com
When someone accidentally presses SHIFT + CTRL + DELETE all files (including read-only) will be deleted without any security question(s).
Normally the files will be moved into the recycle bin - but not when deleting from a network drive or secure deletion is enabled. They will be deleted permanently.
Using "PROTECT LIBRARY" does not help - because when managing crates and/or files this must be disabled and an accident as above could happen (as did for me).
Security questions are a MUST HAVE - so please add this:
1) Before deleting files open a prompt window like:
"Do you really want to delete 999 files physically?"
"Yes / No / Cancel"
Yes = Continuous with step 2
No / Cancel = Stopps the process
2) When pressing SHIFT + CTRL + DELETE and before deleting a file open a prompt window like:
"Do you really want to delete the file xyz physically?"
"Yes / Yes to all / No / No to all / Cancel"
Yes = deletes the file (and asks for the next file)
Yes to all = deletes all files
No = does not delete the file (and asks for the next file)
No to all = does not delete a file anymore
Cancel = stops the process (like No to all)
3) If a file is also READ-ONLY a second prompt window should appear like:
"Do you really want to delete the read-only file xyz physically?"
"Yes / Yes to all / No / No to all / Cancel"
...
Options could be implented like:
x) Do not ask for confirmation before commencing delete. Default is not selected. => This is for security question 1). Enable it to avoid the security question.
x) Do not ask for confirmation for each file before deleting. Default is not selected.
=> This is for security question 2). Enable it to avoid the security question.
x) Do not ask for confirmation for each READ-ONLY file before deleting. Default is not selected.
=> This is for security question 3). Enable it to avoid the security question.
You can find these options also in the file manager Directory Opus.
Thanks a lot.
