CD decks - Buying advice

tdo 2:19 PM - 27 March, 2007
I'm looking at getting some cd decks main feature I need is compact size! I'd also like to be able to scratch (basic stuff) on them and use the wheel to nudge the pitch and cue tracks up. I don't really want to spend over 300 quid (I think that's 500-660 dollars) on each one, any suggestions? I don't need MP3 playback.

what features are you looking for?
tdo 5:02 PM - 27 March, 2007
as the above, will be using them just for scratch live so mp3, efx etc are not needed
DJ-A 5:06 PM - 27 March, 2007
you mention decks, so i assume you want rack mountable?

I bought a pair of CDJ 800 MKII for $1200 from PSSL. (I worked'em over pretty good) I have used them for 2 weeks now, they're dope. I didn't want to get the 1000's due to the fact that all the extra's are nullified when using SSL.

Get Pioneers CDJ800Mk1/Mk2 or CDJ1000Mk2/Mk3. You won't regret it.

dn-s3500 has the best firmware compatibility with serato scratch live, the best mp3 support, period.

I like using the Denon 3000's at the club, but I want the Technics.
djransom 3:31 AM - 28 March, 2007
I would have to agree w/ Woody, but then again that's just me.
DJ CRANK 7:48 PM - 28 March, 2007
get 2 CDJ800s first edition second choice 2 CDJ800mK2. I had 800s now I own 2 CDJ1000mk2s, They are still great cd players but over kill for Serato, Most of the intended features are useless when using serato.
