Hi guys just moving my vas amount of files to the Macbook from my Dell

I 1st off all tried copying all my files and folders from the Dell to a Fat32 HD, I had loads of IO errors, and it just wasnt working at all.......

Luckily I had everything backed up on HD already , but this is NTFS . I plugged it into the Mac and all the files are copying accross sweet and much faster that the Dell, with no IO errors.

JUst checking that this is ok and I wont encounter any future problems with my files and SSL, as everyone seems to recomended Fat32 HD's for Macs.

From what I've read NTFS HD's can be read by the Mac, just not written back onto it, which is cool for me as I just want to extract my files.

Am I doing this right ?

Many Thanx DJ Cutloose

Hey Cutloose,

Yes.. that shouldn't cause any issues at all.
You are correct. You can read info/pull info off of a NTFS formatted drive.
You just aren't able to write info to it.
