I know that the Numark iCDX can automatically control scratch live with no MIDI assignment necessary. I just got an NDX800 and i would like to use it with scratch live just as how the iCDX can be used. The NDX800 is currently setup where i have to go in and manually assign each key with no way for me to assign the scratch platter to be able to scratch mp3 tracks in internal mode. Please help!!

The NDX800 is not a natively supported controller like the iCDX, so you cannot map the jog wheel platter for scratching.

Does anybody know if there is any hope of the NDX800 being supported. A lot of people are sarting to use this controller.

Not at this stage, however if enough people request it we can look further.
Go into the forum area Feature Suggestions (serato.com) and search for the request, if none exists make a new one, then if the thread gets a lot of feedback that will help the cause :D

make sure to request the ndx800 on the feature suggestions post

DJ BLV - do you mean you can plug the Numark NDX800 in via USB and control Scratch Live as a native controller with no CD control signal?
DJ BLV 3:49 PM - 4 May, 2010
@Matt-C
Matt,
I use my xlr from the NDX to the SL1 Box and I am able to scratch, use pitch and search the same as I did with my turntable. I cant control the Fx or anything, but after reading this post Im wondering is there another way for me to hook things up.

But are you using the control CD?
DJ BLV 11:39 PM - 4 May, 2010
Yeah I have a control CD for each deck

Right - we are talking about using these devices as a 'native' controller, ie. no CDs needed, just plug the device via USB to your computer and have access to all the functions direct from the CD player with no latency.

You are using the device as a normal CD player, which is how it should be used :D
Cheers.

ok......so for the record.....the ndx 800 can be used with sl1 or ttm 57???
Konix 6:01 PM - 13 June, 2010
Yes with the timecode CDs. The NDX-800 is a CD player like any other.
maniacalone80 6:09 PM - 13 June, 2010
And what is the general feedback on the quality of these players?? I've heard the low end is missing.
Konix 6:38 PM - 13 June, 2010
Well, that doesn't really matter if you are using them with Scratch Live or similar timecode programs, only with normal CDs, which I cannot comment on as I've never used the NDX-800s.
maniacalone80 7:12 PM - 13 June, 2010
i guess that does make sense.....Thanks!

I haven't used these either I'm sorry to say. If any other users have any feedback then feel free to post it here in terms of quality/usability.

As for the sound quality, Konix is correct, Scratch Live outputs it's audio through the Rane hardware, and this doesn't have any relation to the quality of the CD player audio. As long as the CD player can play the Control CD audio well, that is all that matters.

I have two of them and love them. For the price there is nothing out there that can come close!!! Good buy you will be happy, have had mine since they came out a couple of months ago.

i currently have the CDN88 mp3 dual decks with serato. Now I used purchased the Numark NDX 800 plater style players. How do i connect everything, cause the SL1 box has the inputs that say left side & right side. Then on the other side it has the thru and line inputs. So how do i connect these units, as it only has the 1 set of inputs for the rca's.

Matt-C 3:50 AM - 22 December, 2010
You will only be able to connect the SL 1 Line outputs to the NDX.
This won't allow you to play normal CDs however.

You could use an RCA spliter like this: www.dse.co.nz

Although this is not very recommended, as it may cause audio issues.
