Dancehall Reggae and Riddims

Likwid 9:24 PM - 1 August, 2006
I need to step up my Dancehall game and I wanted to know if anyone knows a lot about the riddims. Basically what I'm looking for is a lot of early 90's riddims and also some current stuff. Here's a sample of the riddims I'm lookin for:

-- Bookshelf Riddim
-- Bashment Riddim
-- Buzz Riddim
-- Diwali Riddim

If anyone is up on their Dancehall, I'd love some ideas of some other classics. I've heard tons of the older stuff, but I never caught the names cause they were all on mixtapes. PM me if you could help out. Thanks in advance.
djtonypsalms 9:30 PM - 1 August, 2006
• Kette Drum Riddim
• "Anything for You" Riddim w/ Snow, Buju, Terror Fabulous
• "Gotta Be" Riddim w/ Spanner Banner

Sorry I don't know the exact names, but I remember dem chunes being big in the early 90's.

BTW, I recently picked up

@ Likwid... some of the popular and fairly recent (emerging over the last 18 months) riddims' I've been playing both on radio and clubs here in Jamaica are :
Gangsta Roc
Anger management & Angrier management
Applause
Baddis ting
Bill back
Inspector
Dem time deh
Eighty Five
Stage Show
Galore
Global
Gully Slime (Dancehall selector Tony Matterhorn has a hot song on this beat, he also has the very popular "Dutty Wine" song on the "Smash Riddim")
High Altitude
Ice Breaker
University Sidewalk
My Swing
Sleepy Dog, plus some new shit that's too early to call.

As Far as the Classic 90's tunes are concerned...Damn!!! too many to mention. Here's a handfull that might be worth exploring:
Giggy...produced by Steelie And Cleavie
Arab Attack, Joy Ride, Stink , Haunted , Batty rider Riddim (also called Revenge of the Giggy), Action, Heartbeat, Medicine,(all produced by Dave Kelly of Madhouse records...some of his other riddims were metioned before by Dj Gains Bond and others.

Quarter to Twelve
Fresh Vegetable (with classics like Tempted to Touch by Beres Hammond).
Fire Burning (includes Love me Browning by Buju Banton.)
Punaany (A classic riddim that spawned releases in both the 80's and the 90's).
Mad Dog
Corduroy (features Beenieman's "World Dance" & Louie Culture's "Gangalee")
Hot wax
Gun Inna Baggy
Top Ten
Dem Bow
And the list goes on and on and on.......

Bless!
