Hello,
I would like to rip vinyls from a Technics SL1200 through a recent Macbook Pro using a Rane Seventy Two mixer.
But I am a bit lost. Many questions actually :
- Is it better to use Audacity or is it ok to record directly with Serato ?
- Which of the Rane 72´s output shall I use to connect to the MBP : Session Out ?
- Shall I use the headphone output of the MBP and set it as an audio input ?
- How shall I set the levels on each piece of hardware so that the level of the recorded file is equal to the other soundfiles that I have purchased digitally ?
Thank you very much for your help.

You can easily record using “Thru” mode in Serato that’s normally how I rip my vinyl it’s like non DVS mode when you just want to play vinyl. You just use the recording option like normal.
