Hi Guys,

I'm using a Macbook Pro for my DJing, I'm doing private parties at the mo which requires a large selection of music. My Laptop memory is practically full now.

My question is, do you guys ever DJ directly from an External SSD drive? If so, any issues?

I have thunderbolt 2 connection however, SSD drives with that connection are now discontinued. Annoying. Would DJing live off of a 3.0 connection speed be ok?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've been djing off an external full time for about 5 yeras and using an old thunderbolt 2 Lacie at the moment but before that I was using an external with usb 2 connection. Never had a problem.

I only use externals...
Lacie Quadras 4TB - Thunderbolt 2
More recently Lacie Porsche 6TB - USB C

I always take 3 cloned HDs with me and leave the original at home. I've only had one die on me a while ago but it was because I dropped it.

I not problem... I have seagate expansión desktop drive 8tb. Run to Speed port USB 3.0
