Serato DJ Pro General Discussion

Talk about Serato DJ Pro, expansion packs and supported hardware

The most Stable Version of Serato DJ

Hanginon 1:34 PM - 3 April, 2019
I am not having a problem with Serato DJ Pro 2.1.1

However, I'm not what you would call a "Power User". I don't Stream, I don't do Video. A comment made upon 2.1.1's release about "more new stuff without existing bugs being fixed" got me thinking - is there a general consensus about what is the "Most Stable Release" of all, including all versions of Serato DJ or Serato DJ Pro?

...and there have been A LOT of releases, many just for additional hardware support, but some were really significant, like the 1.8 releases that started using Qt code, or the (obviously) Pro 64 bit release.

...and there have been A LOT of issues that are really Human Error.

None-the-less, any opinions?

I think 1.7.5 and 1.9.5 were considered the best, problem is, if you buy newer gear you have to have the latest release that supports it.

I was starting to think the best ones end in .5

You blew my theory!

2.1 had multiple problems for people that are well documented in the forums, it really messed up a lot of people's libraries. It did not affect everyone though, I think mostly people that use iTunes for library management.

Apparantly 2.1 had a hotfix at some point that wasn't widely advertised, so later downloads were probably better.

2.0.5 was pretty solid for the most recent. 1.9.5 before that.

2.1.1 has been good for me so far tho. 2.1 wasn’t.

you always have to be precautious when it comes to serato releases. My motto is to stick with it if it functions great, then don't update. However after some deep inner thought and reflection 2.0.5 has been a very good horse to me.

2.0.5 I consider to be rock solid and use it for live venues.

After the horror that was 2.1 last year im holding back on even attempting to try 2.1.1.
