New, potentially useful feature, coming with next major Windows update

Saw this elsewhere and thought it sounded like it might be a useful way to try out each new SDJ update before committing your entire system to it:

"Windows Sandbox

Microsoft is adding a new feature to Windows 10 called "Windows Sandbox," that gives users the ability to run a virtualized instance of Windows 10 on top of their live install. This is great for those who want to run a program that they're not so sure about, without putting their entire system at risk. Windows Sandbox is off by default, but once enabled will run a clean version of Windows 10 in a virtual machine every time you go to use it.

This feature is only available for Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise editions, as it's a feature aimed primarily at power users."

No idea if it will really be all that useful to us, but thought it might interest the other 4 people still on Windows around here. ;)

there is plenty of virtual machine like apps out already, If only they can make it user friendly to run Mac OS on windows, like how mac makes it easy to run windows on macs, now that would be nice

There are plenty VM apps, some better than others, and with varying learning curves. Chances are though that few will go through the trouble of finding, learning, and configuring one just to test new SDJ builds, as the vm environment could be just as likely as anything to introduce some wacky behavior. (Not that I'm any expert on the subject or anything.) On the other hand, if it's already there on your machine with your windows distro one might he more inclined to give it a whack.

its also a windows app created by Microsoft, so I'm not expecting anything amazing, SDJ Pro is not that intrusive that you need to test it on a virtual machine, the uses of a virtual machine is for testing out a cracked copy of a software, or running or testing a different op system, or intrusive software that completely takes over your windows system, but I hear you

Might have saved some people some library related headaches this last go around, though like you said, it's from MS so we'll have to wait and see how well it actually works in practice. Don't really expect it to be all that useful to any of us, but kinda neat nonetheless. Could prove helpful at some point.

If they would only make it easier to test out their own updates and avoid them before they self-install and reset all of your settings/reinstall apps that you've disabled...

They're actually doing something about that too, apparently.

Those of you running Serato on Windows have already been running it in a sandbox environment.
