If you don’t have one yet now might be the time. Just saw that 500GB is $73 and 1T is $127 on amazon.
The improvement it made on my ‘12 MBP was significant and thought I’d share.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm definitely adding a 1TB SSD to my MBP after the holidays.

Keep in mind the newer Macbooks use a special SSD. A 1TB SSD is still around $400 for my Late 2013 model.

Yep, once you hit retina models you have to get the more expensive aftermarket upgrades.
Mid 2012 non-retina MacBook Pros and older will make best use of this. I think I'll bump my boot drive to 1TB so I can do some more editing. The last upgrade this 2012 will get is a 4TB SSD in the optibay, once those drop under $500.

Nice. Did you do a data doubler as well? That’s the tray that removes the cd drive and creates another HD spot. I did that as well. While I have everyone, can anyone reccomend
a good RAM source? Reasonable price and reliable are what I am looking for.

Yep another vote for OWC from me as well. Both RAM and their optibay bracket are top notch.
