what in your opinion is some of the best affordable active Pa's?

Hey everyone,
I'm in the market for an active Pa, I've been searching the web and theres not too many articles about budget Pa speakers. What would you recommend for £150 or less. (I could probably do a little bit more).

Im open to both buying new and used.

Thanks!!

nothing. Rent until you can afford something decent.

Yep, anything for under £150 is instant regret waiting to happen.

Best affordable PA is either the Yamaha DBR series, EV ZLX, older RCF Art series or Turbosound iX series.

Can I add a question to this?

I’m after two new actives preferably around 1k power

Have between 500-600 uk pounds to spend.
Anyone with any advice here?

Just to add. I’ve been looking at the Alto TS315

In my honest to god opinion I wouldn't spend any less than 4K each if you are looking for quality. Affordable just doesn't go along with quality, sorry to say.

Anyone else got anything helpful to add?

I got a pair of Turbosound Milan 15" (mk 1, Proel) off ebay 2nd hand a couple of years ago for £700. They sound amazing. Might be worth looking at 2nd hand. You should budget way more than £150 though! You won't get anything for that.

You use those without a sub?
Comrade Tulayev 5:13 PM - 25 October, 2018
I have a DB Technologies sub 808d as well (about £600 new), but the Turbosound do pretty well without it, they go down to 36Hz at -3db, I don't do big gigs, pub back rooms, social clubs etc

That sounds like a good cost effective set up.

I’ll be looking for something similar.
I guess my worry rn is are two 300rms 12s
With one 18 or even two 18” subs
Going have enough punch.
Sure it will have enough bass but maybe not enough in the mid to highs...

Wonder if anyone has anything similar set up with experience

Don't look at wattage, it doesn't really tell you much. Look at the spl.
novakone 8:27 PM - 25 October, 2018
Sure. My DB tech are 126 DB
Is that pretty quiet for decent tops?
Comrade Tulayev 8:58 PM - 25 October, 2018
Depends on the space you want to fill. Plenty loud enough for a pub function room.
novakone 11:25 AM - 26 October, 2018
Sure.
Ok bit to think about and work out. Cheers for the advice
