Rand 68 & older Units Mac Firmware Updates

I wonder how hard is it to add a firmware update for Rane 68 to the newer Macbook Pro O/S? It's a lot of us DJ's who want to pass down our older gear to our kids & no kid has a older O/S to operate a older mixer... So I ask again how hard is it to update the firmware?
