used mac advice? I'm happy to run ssl 1.9.2 (or later)

Hey,

I use a 2006 black macbook to run ssl 1.9.2.

I'm happy with it but it's looking too old (dated and scratched up) for wedding gigs.
Looking to get something a little newer looking and in better shape.
I don't care about upgrading ssl, I just play songs record style anyway.

Thanks in advance for any advice on year/model to get.

I wouldn't get anything older than a mid 2012 Macbook Pro because of USB 3.0. A DJ buddy using the cheapest mid-2012 you can possibly buy and it runs El Capitan with Serato DJ Pro flawlessly.

Get a 2015 MBP from the refurbished section of apple.com.

~$1,600.

I paid around the same price for my 2011 over five years ago. I will be getting a 2015 as well...

Thanks y'all.
Yeah I'm likely to get an old one.
I've seen a lot of older MacBook Airs on Craigslist.
They haven't changed the look of them on so long that I could get an older one and it would still look "new".

I bought a 2012 i5 MBA on eBay for $350 as my backup. I have a 2012 MBP as my main DJ rig. I had to put music on a external because the Air HD is too small but it's a really nice laptop for the price. I can't get it to bog down. Wouldn't/haven't run video with it but if you're just audio then it's worth checking out if you want something cheap

Nice yeah I'm looking for something like that. Used/old is fine with me as long as it can still work w internet stuff like Spotify.

GET a 2012 mbp and install Yosemite. They can be had for about $400 in good condition.
