The iOS and the ARM platform are now mature to support a software like Serato DJ.
The SHOOTOUT: 2017 iPad Pro versus 2017 MacBook Pro 13-inch shows a big trend in this direction:

I am new to Serato DJ (two weeks only!), but old in the DJ, Computer Graphics, Music and Pro Audio fields (if you know what is an Audiomedia II, a Samplecell, Opcode Studio Vision Pro, OMS, NuBus and BeOS: you got a good idea of my geeky background :-)
I use an iPad Pro 12" controlled by different kinds of hardware + software controllers via USB or/and Bluetooth/WiFi for creative purposes, sound design research (and backup) on my performances.
I have grabbed an entry level controller to see what the Serato community is and how it behaves.
I can list — if you ask: why on Earth, a DJ would like to use (a new kind of) Serato DJ via a touchscreen?
