Is it possible to have different pad modes on the S9?
One side a sampler while the other cues and so on?
That could be a neat idea (hint the 72 does that AND has transport controls

Hey kvnkrz,
I'm afraid that's not possible with DJM-S9 sorry, both pad gorups can only be in the same mode at the same time.
Cheers,
Michael.

user mode - i have mine mapped like this
LEFT pads 1-4 are cue points, RIGHT pads 1-4 are cue points
BOTTOM ROW 1-8 pads are samples.
This way, i have enough cue points and all my main samples in one "mode", no need to constantly switch between different pad modes.
Still can't assign colours to the pads though, they all appear as a generic yellow with the sample pads lighting up when executed.
Hope this helps, Ray.

Is it possible via a future firmware update or its gonna be so forever and ever

I'm not sure sorry, that's probably a question for Pioneer :)

Since Rane stressed that point during the "official" announcement of the 72 quite a bit I guess Pioneer will update the firmware to handle that.
At the moment I would prefer the 72 over the S9 just because of that.
