Thanks for this tip! Will use this for moments when short term memory presses pause.

I use this a lot to create my playlist before making a mixtape/recordings. Makes it easier to know how many tracks I've played/remaining.

I live by the prepare box. (As my crates are not laid out in a set-ready-2-go / sets manner)
I mapped the Aux headphone button on my Sixty Two to Load to Prepare so zipping through my library and managing a real time set is super easy and intuitive.

is there a maximum number of tracks you can put in there? I was recently preparing for a gig, put a load of tunes in to the prepare box & when I got to the gig there was only about 10/15 in there (way less than I'd originally put in) so it seemed a bit of a waste of time.

If you replayed any of those songs they would have then disappeared out of the Prepare panel.

Exactly how I use the Prepare feature 👌

Yet another reason for Serato to actually pay some attention to the feature requests!
We have been asking for this to be changed, so that we can manually delete the tracks when we are ready. The way it works right now is very frustrating.

+1
(this flaw is the ONLY reason I never use the prepare feature, I would love to, but the way it is it simply sucks IMHO)

I guess it's coke to Pepsi and work flows from person to person...

Maybe do a prepare box Vs a Live Crate.

A live crate behaves like a crate
And a prepare box behaves like it does now.
Or a simple lock/unlock tick box on top.

Personally I can't imagine having the tracks stay there, would drive me crazy.
I put it in the box because it's going in my set, and then it's gone.

If I put together a prepare box set I really like and don't want to lose it, I'll just drag it out to a new crate, or drag it from the history to a new crate.

I wouldn't hate the idea (and I suggested it years ago) for a Ctrl+click lock function on A track in the prepare box... so I can quickly drop in and out of battle samples without losing it.
But other than than that....

I understand that, but if you load a track, then realize it doesn't fit with what's playing right now. You then load a track that works better. However the track that was in your prep folder is now gone - you have to go look for it again (or forget about it) - I'd much rather have it clear when Serato closes, than have it deleted as soon as it's loaded.

Never really use this panel, is it possible to prepare a set , put it in the prepare panel ,power down your laptop, power back up and all your tracks still in the prepare panel.

Unfortunately not.

The very reason why I don't use 'Prepare". Listen to the tracks, they are gone!

If you load something you don't like you can drag it back from the deck to the Prepare folder. That got me around that frustration but you do have to remember...

I never even thought of that, I'm gonna do that for the time being.
Thanks for the helpful tip!!
