i forgot that they said it was for hip hop dj.
but theres some new good rock, just have to really look for it, however i agree, overall it is pretty terrible
i was just thinking that there are a few songs from the 90s & 00s that would fit the bill but then again what hip hop djs are really playing rock anyway.
guess im going in circles, back to rock

Eh depends, I'd be inclined to agree but when you consider somewhat modern bands like arctic monkeys, queens of the Stone Age, and arcade fire (Thomas Bangalter produced their most recent) there's some cool stuff going on. The main problem is the audience stopped considering rock dance music, and it is. Time to re educate em.

I don't really consider indie rock to be rock - it's kinda become it's own thing and sound now.
I do like that portugal the man song.

i think there is some 90s and 00s rock that could work if a young up and coming dj could put it together ala dj AM (RIP) or z trip.
i'd think you'd almost have to include indie rock because its not really indie anymore and its kinda synonmous with rock ahead of electronic
y'all are still missing alot of stuff that came out over the last 10-12 yrs though.

The other thing is that in the 90s there were dance clubs that played alternative rock music. House/rap/pop djs could go to these clubs and get a feel for what ppl danced to. DJing alternative is kind of its own thing. Open format djs play only classic rock at best, and that's missing out on a ton of great stuff.

I heard jazzy Jeff drop the first verse to ice ice baby a capella over the opening to queen & bowie - under pressure and have since been replicating it to big reactions.
Other faves that work in a hip hop set:
Red hot chilli peppers - by the way
Acdc - back in black
Joan jet - I love rock n roll (*copy djam and put "hip hop" in place of rock n roll)
Chubby checker the twist (mixes awesome with Jay z hard knock life)
Blur - song 2
Gary glitter - rock n roll part 2
Steve Miller band - the joker
John cougar Mellen camp - jack and dine
