Error Failed to Connect Audio

I have been running Serato DJ with my Pioneer DDJ-SX controller successfully on Win 8. I recently upgraded my laptop to Win 10, reinstalled Serato, and now I cannot get my controller to connect. When I plug it in to either of the USB ports it flashes up as if it is going to connect (I fleetingly see a screen showing 4 decks) then at the bottom of the screen I get the orange error message 'Error failed to connect audio'. Any advice ?

Upgrade firmware if not done that. And install win 10 specific drivers.

The only time I've had this, is if I have an application running that uses the laptops sound card, and then try to open Serato DJ.
That exact message and it just won't connect. I shut down Serato, shut down the offending app then restart Serato. Everything starts perfectly.

I've recently upgraded to Win10 too and had a few issues with system settings (like the auto update turning on and updating just before a gig! Watch out for that one lol) maybe something in your system start up has changed??
