El Capitan work with Sixty-One?

El Capitan work with Sixty-One?

My buddy needs me to spin for a few hours at his gig but he has a Sixty-One. My laptop is running El Capitan (works without issue with my SL3), but not sure if it will work with a Sixty-One.

If I disable my SIP setting in pre-boot, will El Captian work with the Sixty-One?

The key word is 61 not 62. The 62 is scratchlive + sdj, the 61 is sdj only.

I know the keyword is 61, they (the 62) were released at the same time.

It's the 57mkII that shipped as SDJ only.

Yeah when the new 57 dropped, they discontinued the 61, and the 57 took over again as their "battle mixer," I think it underwhelmed most people so it's an honest mistake.

I really wish they would've dropped the new 57 when SSL was still an option.

There's a video from Rane on their Youtube explaining how to get the drivers to work for the 61 and El Capitan, but it's a fix meant for SDJ. Still, maybe have that driver as a backup plan.

My el capitan macbook runs flawlessly with SSL 2.5 and my SL3 (I know pdidy is shaking his head at this) so I don't want to install any drivers or delete any extensions which might fubar my own setup.

If it works out of the box with my buddy's 61, I'll spin a set.

Yeah that's probably the right choice, since it's only one night. Not worth risking other potential issues.

My macbook with El Cappy and SSL 2.5 hooked up to the 61 no problem without having to download or install anything.
