make sure you have the correct drive letter ( D,C,E etc.) also make sure you have the correct path to where your music is are you using a external hard drive?

thats the biggie is making sure you have the correct path to where your music is if you get that wrong the app wont work
DjSyndic8 11:09 AM - 16 May, 2016
also make sure you are running the latest "Java" update
AudioPusher 11:21 AM - 16 May, 2016
My music is on an external drive G:\Music\DJ
Serato library is G:\Music\_serato_

I am running the latest Java (Version 8 Update 91)

"itch-sync.properties" file is as follows :-

# mode - gui vs. cmd
mode=gui

# path to your personal music collection
music.library.filesystem=G:\\Music\\DJ

# path to your serato library
music.library.itch=G:\\Music\\Serato

Still not working!!!
AudioPusher 12:04 PM - 16 May, 2016
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST GOT IT WORKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I played around with the itch.sync.properties file until i got it working with this :-

#mode - gui vs. cmd

mode=gui

#path to your personal music collection
music.library.filesystem=G:\\Music\\DJ\\

#path to your serato library

music.library.itch=G:/music/_serato_

Thanks for your help guys

good on ya bro Its the best app for organizing your library, just organize your music folders the way you want your crates to be and then run the app simple as that :)

Has anyone used this for mac? I think this thread was using a pc.
the SOUNDINSURGENT 9:02 PM - 31 August, 2017
Yes I use it at least once a week on a Mac and have no problems.

It's actually better on a Mac because I can also include my external hard drives as well 🤙🏾

I plan on trying this tonight. This literally was my top wish list items. Before I switched to Serato, it was built in, so you didn't have to run a program... but I'll take this over nothing. Thanks
DJ Hlias K 9:29 PM - 2 September, 2017
I have the same problem...."unable to load etc....." what can i do?
DJ Hlias K 9:43 PM - 2 September, 2017
Says me that "unable to find aany supported files in your media directory..."

cant really understand what you are doing because you post several short messages ..... try explaining what you have done, and what you don't understand about itch sync and we will try to help you out.

Finally I find the problem and I solve it. ..I just write my music collection's folder in English because I had it with greek letters and I solve it

yer its normal.... itch sync mimics the exact copy of your folders into crates including sub-folders

Hi guys,

Tried doing this and running into some errors. Here is what I have in my properties file:

# mode - gui vs. cmd
mode=gui

# path to your personal music collection
music.library.filesystem=/Black LaCie/backup/My Music/

# path to your Serato library
music.library.itch=/Black LaCie/_Serato_/

Please note:

1) I'm a Mac user
2) I use an external hard drive for all of my music named "Black LaCie"
3) Error I get is "unable to load config file 'itch-sync.properties'
with another window that says "error occurred. please inspect the main window with logs for details."

I have a feeling it has something to do with the directories I'm using (because of the external drive)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

maybe the space in your disk name. you could try to put the path in quotes
Dj Stylz-1 12:56 PM - 8 November, 2017
So far, I've tried:
# mode - gui vs. cmd
mode=gui

# path to your personal music collection
music.library.filesystem=/“Black LaCie/backup/My Music”/
music.library.filesystem=/“Black LaCie"/backup/My Music/
music.library.filesystem=/Black LaCie/backup/My Music/

# path to your Serato library
music.library.itch=/“Black LaCie"/_Serato_/
music.library.itch=/“Black LaCie"/_Serato_/
music.library.itch=/Black LaCie/_Serato_/
the SOUNDINSURGENT 1:22 PM - 8 November, 2017
I think you have to make a new file for every drive your using.

I can have 7 different drives hooked up and they all get read.

When I get home tonight I’ll look and post how I have mine setup.

Been using this for years now and never had any problems.

That would be great, thank you!

the quotes have to enclose the whole path. try this:

# path to your personal music collection
music.library.filesystem="/Black LaCie/backup/My Music/"

# path to your Serato library
music.library.itch="/Black LaCie/_Serato_/"

did it work?

try and simplify the drive name, is it on your internal or external?
u might need to do some spring cleaning on your drive put all your music in one folder "Dj Music" and all your sub folders in this DJ music folder and don't leave files scattered all over the place you have to put your loose music files into folders keep it nice and organized

cause once you use Itch Sync it will mirror your folders into crates 1 to 1

this is why I tidy my files first keep them in less folders as possible once I finish that then I use my Itch sync

also take you music out of the Music Folder on your Mac because the Music folder has a backup of your _serato_ .......
create a folder call it DJ Music on your main internal drive and go from there,
also this is why I have my music on a external hard drive its so easy to move from one computer to another for file maintenance

Don't you have to use a space filler "\" in between word spaces?

So it should look something like - "Black\LaCie/" ?

I could try this, but it would mean a huge overhaul of my folders already. This piece of coding is to simply identify where the files and folders are. My sense is that the directory is not reading correctly, and I need to fix that. I'd like to avoid having to rebuild my folders if I can.

You're right though, I might have to try that first, but hoping to save this as a last resort.

I read something regarding this, but didn't quite understand. Now that you have mentioned it, i'll try to replace the spaces, and see what result I get. Do you use this?

If anyone is using this or Mac, if you could copy and past your path's, I can try and reverse engineer what I need.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help!

drive-base-path: /Volumes/My Book/Music/

serato-base-path: autodetect (or /Volumes/My Book/_Serato_ )

run backup-serato-db

run sync

run prune-serato-db
the SOUNDINSURGENT 3:16 AM - 14 November, 2017
You have to make a new file (rule) for EVERY drive/volume you want it to read from.

So for example I have 7 different files because I use 7 different drives.

So one of my files (rules) looks like this on my Mac,

drive-base-path: /Volumes/Videos22/VIDEOS PT2/Videos 2/

serato-base-path: autodetect

run backup-serato-db

run sync

run prune-serato-db

Hope this helps
Dj Stylz-1 2:34 AM - 15 November, 2017
Tried the two below... nothing.

music.library.filesystem=/“volumes/Black\LaCie/backup/My\Music”
music.library.itch=/“volumes/Black\LaCie/_Serato_”

music.library.filesystem=“volumes/Black\LaCie/backup/My\Music”
music.library.itch=“volumes/Black\LaCie/_Serato_”

Your path's are completely different than what is on the original post (serato-base-base:...)

I'm not sure what you mean by run backup-serato-db

run sync - is that running the jar file?

run prune-seato-db - not sure what this is
Dj Stylz-1 2:40 AM - 15 November, 2017
Just to clarify.

I use only 1 external hard drive.

All of my folders are located in /volumes/black lacie/backup/my music/
(verified this path using terminal)

I'm beginning to think it just doesn't work for external hard drives on a Mac.
Dj Stylz-1 3:08 AM - 15 November, 2017
Well... persistence is key. The paths that worked are below. The problem was that I had to remove ".txt" from the properties file. Even though I had the file as .properties. I had to ctrl click the file and remove that portion from the file name. After that, it worked.

Thanks for everyone's help!!

# mode - gui vs. cmd
mode=gui

# path to your personal music collection
music.library.filesystem=/volumes/Black LaCie/backup/My Music/

# path to your Serato library
music.library.itch=/volumes/Black LaCie/_Serato_/

Told you it works 😏
Dj Stylz-1 4:08 AM - 15 November, 2017
well... I spoke to soon. It runs, and all of my crates (or folders) show up and all of the songs are listed there, but it's all yellow. The files cannot be found according to Serato.

Any thoughts?
