Can you just play videos in the background?

Sorry if this is obvious question, but I can't find a straightforward answer anywhere.

My old laptop which I used Arkoas on to play background images and loops has died. And I'm thinking of upgrading my Serato to Video.

However - I'm not necessarily ready to start 'djing' with videos as such.

So my question is - can you just leave loops and videos playing in the background and not have them synced to audio? Or will it only work if you have full 'music' videos.

Again sorry if this is obvious - but i've very little time to do research and or practice anything before the next gig.

Yep, SDJ supports a media crate you can put ambients in and it will play them randomly to each song (unless you associate one with a track). It's pretty basic and wont be at the tempo of the track per se.

If you have a mac, get mixemergency. It can be used in sync with serato or as a standalone player.
