On the flip side of that coin... debate is fine, disagreement is fine, but when it clearly turns into a pissing contest going on and on for 10, 20, 30, or 40+ posts, when is enough, enough? It just becomes spam at that point.
If people cannot just agree to disagree at a certain point then take that shit to private message. Nobody wants to get flooded with email notifications over a thread they are tracking that is getting spammed from two dudes wanting to measure their dicks. It's annoying!
And when the mods do step in, I'd much prefer them deal with the individual poster's, rather than locking the thread. Go to the source and deal with it directly.
And no, that is not particularly directed at you, MGK. In my opinion that thread shouldn't have been locked.
