DVS Upgrade for Denon DN-X1600 Mixer

CueTheBeat 11:47 PM - 3 March, 2015
Are there any future plans for making the Denon DN-X1600 mixer DVS upgrade ready in Serato DJ?

I understand that I could buy a SL box or Denon is releasing a Serato DS1 box later this spring. However, it shocks me that I would need to spend additional money on more hardware since this mixer already has a 24 bit 96kHz USB 2.0 audio interface and a 4in/4out stereo sound card. These specs match or beat out most of the competition and it was released several years ago.

I'm sure others that own this mixer are also willing to purchase the $100 Serato DVS upgrade and other expansion packs, so that Serato gets more loyal Denon users and money out of this deal.

Hopefully others can offer an approval or disapproval based on their thoughts. Thanks for reading my post!

From what Serato has said, there are no current plans for x1600/x1700.
Those are great mixers though, personally I would love to see them supported in the Club Kit.
I don't see them very often in local clubs though. Your best bet would be to rally up more users and have them support your suggestion. Serato do listen to their customers. My guess would be, that it would take some time though. So if you're looking to use SDJ with your mixer now, your best bet would probably be the DS1 or a Rane box.

Thanks for your reply, WarpNote. I agree with you 100% and my goal is to rally up enough support, so perhaps it'll one day be added to Serato. I also shared this forum link on a public Facebook page for Denon and I'm hoping that others will show interest, too.

Hello!
I also need this feature for my X1600.
I hope Denon and Serato will implement it in further updates.
Bye.

Add my vote for the Denon DN-x1600

I definately would love to see support for Serato DJ using the Denon DN-X1600 with timecoded vinyl, i've used it with Traktor for years and Traktor has always had numerous problems with bpm wildly fluctuating on it's own very fast. I've seen many, many people complain about it, i've contacted Native Instruments about it, had my turntables calibrated and checked and Native Instruments always just blamed people's equipment saying it couldn't possibly be their software and seemed pretty much like they couldn't care less.

So i'm wanting to move to Serato DJ for definate but so far you can't use Serato DJ with the DN-X1600 so...i'll have to stick with Traktor until there's finally support for Serato DJ.

+1 for the Denon DN-X1600. Please make this happen, Serato!

I read above that Serato has no plans to support the DN-X600 or DN-X1600 so I doubt Serato ever will in which case i'm sticking with Traktor because I don't fancy buying the Denon DS1, it'll just be like me using the Traktor Audio 6 interface.
DJ Snorkle 12:30 AM - 19 August, 2015
+1 for 1600 support
I currently use SL-1 (i know still) but would love to keep this mixer than buy a DS1, SL2/3/4....

I totally agree, the 1600 has all of the necessary hardware to support a serato Dvs bundle and o would pay for it!!
WarpNote 3:34 PM - 6 November, 2015
So yeah, a +1 from me too, great mixer!
Thomas S 3:39 PM - 6 November, 2015
+1 from me.. great mixer, great midi system and incredible great sound for that price class. Why support never got copied from Skratch Live to Serato DJ is wierd.
Stephen Wayne 7:35 PM - 11 December, 2015
+1 the X1600 is an amazing mixer! Sound quality is superb. But no Serato for this beast. So sad. I heard you can hack some Traktor mixers to be compatible with Serato. Anyone know if this is possible on the x1600?
Direktion 4:31 AM - 21 December, 2015
+1 for DN-X1600 and Serato DJ support.
DJVertigo 10:50 PM - 22 December, 2015
Would love it for the 1700!
fonske 5:39 PM - 16 January, 2016
YES PLEASE dvs support for this beast of a mixer
Want to switch from traktor because all the problems i have but want to keep my setup as compact as possible so c'mon serato !!!!!
DJ Yoni 7:02 PM - 16 January, 2016
I can understand the hesitation, considering that most of Denon's line up has been discontinued and marked down by half the price, but if the update would be simple enough as a software update, then i'd be willing to pay for such an update, considering that I love the mixer and honestly don't use it as much because of this issue. Which ever way Serato goes, I understand that they'd wanna support products that are still in production and of course industry standards, but isn't Allen & Heath part of the same house as Denon DJ? Why support their 4-6 year old mixers and not Denon's?
WarpNote 12:38 PM - 17 January, 2016
A&H is not the same "house".
Denon is owned by inMusic, as is Numark. Would be nice to see them both release midpriced quality SDJ mixers.

From what Ive heard in the past, the "older" mixers and midi sub controllers had issues with midi in (light feedback).
I could be wrong about that part, but thats what I heard.

Hoping for Denon to rise once again in standalone mixers.
FLIPSIDEclub 11:18 AM - 25 February, 2016
I would be happy without LED feedback on my X1700, I just want to be able to connect it to DVS without an SL4/3/2.

I would be more than happy to pay the club kit upgrade fee for this ability.
WarpNote 6:48 AM - 1 March, 2016
Btw, did Denon ever release a firmware with better onboard fx for the X1700?
I played on the the 1700 a few weeks back, and the reverb sounded pretty bad to me, kinda muffled, dedgrading/damaging the audio, nothing like a Rane/Pioneer/Sdj software reverb...
DJ CoolFire 5:08 PM - 6 March, 2016
+1 for DN-X1700 and Serato DJ support !!!
Osmosis 9:35 PM - 8 March, 2016
+1 for the DN-X1600.

Would like to move away from Traktor.

Nothing wrong with it, I use it all the time on vinyl and live vocals ... it's as good as many of my studio verbs.

denondj.com

in there you will see the change sheet and the only thing that was changed in effects was the addition of beatscratch and ducking times.
WarpNote 12:54 PM - 22 March, 2016
The mixer itself has great sound, but the reverb was VERY lacking compared to the hardware reverb on a 62/64 or a pioneer djm900/S9, even the built in software reverb in SDJ.

Trakor sucks but I love my Denon x1600
Thats a plus 1 from me too.
Oh Serato hear our crys!!!
WarpNote 7:37 AM - 27 September, 2016
Now that Denon has stopped making an marketing mixers, Id say the chance of SDJ support for these discontinued products are pretty much zero.
Aluisio Nascimento 3:03 AM - 20 October, 2016
Please serato now that Denon stopped producing mixer gives this happiness for us to use your precious softwere with this mixer magnifico
Aluisio Nascimento 3:05 AM - 20 October, 2016

I have 2 Denon sc3900 (work with Serato) & x1600 (hybrid mode not work with Traktor Scratch Pro 2) its miracle)))
Pepehouse 4:50 PM - 5 September, 2018
TRAKTOR sucks with DVS and it's obsolete, as a 1700 owner Id' like to move to the much better dj software Serato DJ without having to set an external interface in my small place for djing.

+1 DN X1700 Serato support
Pepehouse 4:56 PM - 5 September, 2018
I also own an MC4000 which showed me how Serato DJ works great oposite to TRAKTOR i'd like to manage and play my library with both systems and forget about NI forever.
