Vestax vci 300 or vci 380 with serato dj

JDforKing 1:48 AM - 20 January, 2015
Who is running serato dj on a mac with yosemite and using either a vestax vci 300 or 380? What are your experiences? I'm currently running a pioneer ddj sx and it works flawlessly. I'm getting a back up controller and the vci 300 or 380 s what i'm looking into. Thanks in advance

works fine with a 380. with a serato box there is a template for SSL too.

My 380 is the Best. It is best small system out there in my opinion. I can do everything on it like my 1200s. I wish they would add flip control to the default mapping under the loop roll.

No issues in terms of 'reliability' with SDJ & vci-300 here. Yosemite, 2009 mac, 2gb ram, core 2 duo. Yeah, she's old, but she's solid. Oh, it'll run 1ms latency fine. Now in terms of 'other shit', i'm not thrilled with some of the map changes from ITCH. But if you've never used it before, you won't notice.

If you pickup a used VCI-anything, toss a small squirt of deox-it into each line control and work it back and forth a dozen times. Get a decksaver or keep it covered to keep dust out. That was the low point of the VCIs IMHO but it's easily maintained this way. Every working DJ should have this stuff and know how to use it, but in case ya don't; www.radioshack.com is the same stuff.

If you need FX on board, the 380 is your choice. If you don't, the 300 is selling for less.
