why are people complaining about a discount for sl1 & 57 owners.

DJ'Que 7:43 PM - 17 April, 2009
First off stop complaining about it.the sl1 has been out for years so either upgrade or be quite. And for the 57 they didnt make a new one so if you want a discount then sell your 57 and buy the sl3 and your discount would be the difference.if the sl3 was better then the 57 then why is the 57 more money.this is something thats coming up alot on here about a discount.like when u buy a record and they made a remix,do you ask for a discount or but it.you would buy it.
latinblood2k1 8:01 PM - 17 April, 2009
I`d say the mods should start locking up threads on ppl complaining
Dj-M.Bezzle 8:36 PM - 17 April, 2009
either the mods or P.E.T.A
wilkins820 12:10 AM - 18 April, 2009
so now we have 2 threads to discuss a discount for the SL3.
SiRocket 4:04 PM - 18 April, 2009
the 57 is more money because its an SL1 plus a mixer with some more bells and whistles...
dj_soo 4:51 PM - 18 April, 2009
because they're idiots
DJ GaFFle 3:08 PM - 21 April, 2009
I'd be pissed too if I had purchased SSL1 anytime after summer of 2008.

I think it was a good move though on the better A/D converter and 24bit tip.
Jader 3:13 PM - 21 April, 2009
i shoulda known something was up when i noticed the price drops on the 57
Dj-M.Bezzle 3:18 PM - 21 April, 2009
the price of the 57 dropped?? what is the price now??
wilkins820 3:22 PM - 21 April, 2009
well i have a question.

when was the SL3 announced? was there any advertising saying that it was coming out in a year or next summer?

or did it just show up one day and say 'here i am'?

i never heard about it till it was for sale
DJ'Que 4:29 PM - 21 April, 2009
It just showed up. and the 57 new price is $1499
wilkins820 4:34 PM - 21 April, 2009
see now, that's a dick move.

those guys who just bought the sl1 and then the next day the sl3 showed up... man, i'd burn the store down.
lofty 4:35 PM - 21 April, 2009
I want a discount on my next car because I just bought one in November and I want the new 2010 one because it's better.

The SL1 is still an awesome unit and will be for a long time.

What's the problem? Just talk to your dealer. Tell'em you want to pay the difference between the SL1 and SL3 - he will be glad to sell you the SL3.
Dj Shamann 4:48 PM - 21 April, 2009
SL1 was the best $600 I ever spent, it paid for itself within a week and that was 3-4 years ago. As soon as I'm ready i'll pick up an SL3 but for now I'm good and have ZERO complaints.
sixxx 4:49 PM - 21 April, 2009
What nik39 said. Usually, a dealer has a 30 day exchange or something like that... some kind of satisfaction guaranteed crap. :P

i thought that was the old price??
wilkins820 5:00 PM - 21 April, 2009
has anyone found a dealer that will take it back?

i remember when i bought mine about 3-4 years ago, i tried to take it back the day after i got it cuz i thought it was a stupid investment. but wasn't allowed to return it
wilkins820 5:02 PM - 21 April, 2009
their (guitar center) argument was cuz it contained software

Did you buy it off the back of a truk or something???? You should be able to return anything given you have the reciept for it. Most places may have an issue with returning software but this software is free you just bought the hardware

You should hav definatley argued that one, they wouldnt let you return it because they didnt want to lose their sales quota. If I were you I would have used their computer to log onto the serato website and show them that anyone can DL the software without purchasing the hardware and without the SL1 you cant use it for anything productive
wilkins820 7:51 PM - 21 April, 2009
well i didn't know at the time the software was free so i didn't have anyway to argue.

but oh well. i was forced to keep it and it worked out for me in the end
Caramac 8:23 AM - 22 April, 2009
Why did you think it was a crap purchase at the time?
wilkins820 12:42 PM - 22 April, 2009
that was 3-4 years ago and i didn't have any mp3s.

i would have to a major conversion and it just seemed outrageously stupid
Caramac 12:45 PM - 22 April, 2009
Lol I knew that feeling. I brought mine and then thought shit. I don't have any mp3's. I'm still ripping vinyl till this day.
wilkins820 12:53 PM - 22 April, 2009
i made some girlfriend get all my shit for me.

she was d-loading illegal shit and it made me so uneasy.

i actually deleted all of the shit she got me cuz it drove me insane.
i think it took me nearly a year before i was ready to take it out of the house and to the clubs
Caramac 12:59 PM - 22 April, 2009
I brought a shit load of used cds. I was kind of lucky because I used to get given cds from labels from my radio days so I just dug most of them out and ripped them and I was good to go within a week. I played half off Serato and half off regular vinyl.
