Akai AMX faders lube

Puggy 5:54 PM - 13 December, 2014
Anyone know a good lube for the volume faders on the AMX? They put a sick innoFader crossfader but made the volume faders so stiff

i personally think that volume faders should be "stiff"
i wouldn't want to accidentally tap them and have my volume change drastically.
the cross-fader should be smooth-n-silky :-)

that's just my $0.02

I agree with musiclee 100% on this.

Yup... Same here

But to the original poster, if you are going to lube any fader, a small drop of the Dupont Teflon Lube should do the trick. It lubes without attracting dust and dirt. You can find it at lowes or home depot for around $7/ bottle.

But then again i would call akai and make sure its ok to lube those faders first. Im not sure if lube will damage the capacitance fader types. Better to be safe than sorry.

...........Has always worked for me as it is formulated for electronics and safe for contacts. Not to mention it literally mentions mixers & tuners by name LOL. I use it quite often actually. This actually helped my SX platters our a crap load. As DRD said though it is always best to check with the manufacturer before adding any foreign additives etc. If nothing else than to cover your ass if something goes wrong. Not probable but you never know.

Actally like the upfaders loose, like the rane 68, 64 & 62 myself.
Pitchsliders however, I like them stiff/slow (like technics), my one minor gripe about the pio cdj pitch...

Agreed. Especially if they don't reverse.

Thanks you guys have been very helpful

After having received AMX
I think volume fader resistance is perfect

I mean AMX is not built like a rank as is my Rane MP25
But it doesn't cost $1500 and AMX does open SDJ
Which MP25 does not

I would pay same price I paid for AMX if MP25 openebed MP 25
musiclee 5:27 PM - 26 December, 2014
"rank" should be "tank"
"openebed" should be "opened" :-)

That's funny! I tell that to my friends to use that if they are married, so they don't get in trouble with their wives lol.
