Someone please help! I've read up on several discussions related to my issye but all of them are related to computer specs. My computer is capable of running this program. Please help!!

One thing off the top of my head is to make sure .NET is installed.

Regarding the .NET, how do I go about that?

In the control panel, go to uninstall a program, click on view installed updates.

Then you can search for .NET to see if it's installed.

So according to my computer it says I have "Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (.... cannot see anymore)...

I also seem to have 2 of them.

The only way I could have something to search on is from the event viewer.

Could it maybe be my library?
My Music folder has over 81 gigs of music / video / live sets. I'm not sure how I would re-organize it considering the large number of songs.
All the songs are organized in folders within the My Music folder

Let me know, if it doesn't work. I can teamviewer in and get the event viewer logs.

I called customer service and the lady told me to try a Final Uninstaller to completely wipe out the Serato and try reinstalling. If that doesn't work she directed me to archives where I should try installing an older version.

Well it would be good to know what the runtime error in the event viewer details are.

But you can try it.

Uninstall completely, install 1.6.0 and then go from there.

Sometimes when that happens, a DLL file is missing or needs to be re-registered.

I just tried 1.6.0 with no success. Same error

So all failed. Tried a final uninstaller, tried previous version 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 and all failed.

I used your link for the Beta and it seems to be working (besides the fact it warned me about messing up my files and software and all).

There's gotta be a way for me to fix this issue and use the 1.6.2....never thought it would be so complicated to use Serato and the DDJ SX...

I called again and the guy said my comp requires 2.5GHz... which is a lie because online only says 1.07 for a i7 processor??? ugh.... this is seriously bad Serato...

I need to look at your event viewer log to see if this a memory related error.

If the beta works then it sounds like collection issue.

There are things we can test to see if tihat's the case.

Hey I am going to try reinstalling the .NET and if that doesn't work I am going to purchase myself a Macbook Pro. Any suggestions which one to go for? (13 inch preferably since money isn't too abundant atm, although I will finance it)

I was going to say, let me take a look first because it could be your database.

Personally, I wouldn't go anything smaller than a 15" but that's just me.

Hello i have SONY VAIO VGN-Z11VRN. And i have this problem too. All other program work well (Traktor, VDJ). How i can resolve it with serato?

To get it working on Mista's Vaio last night I had to update his Bluetooth drivers,

His database was structure was crashing SDJ 1.6.2 and earlier versions, so we had to test with the 1.6.3 beta version which focuses on this.

However, the ddj-sx couldn't be detected by SDJ.

I had to update his USB 3.0 filter drivers. Once I did this, his SX was detected and started working successfully.

Is this Windows 7?

Just to add, the reason I gave him a hand is because he contacted support directly but the solution didn't work.

From the description of the issue, the root problem was much deeper than a reinstall.

This almost appears a direct problem with the drivers for the chipsets used on those generation of Vaio laptops.

I just wanted to say Thank you to DJ Quartz for helping solve my problem. After I called customer service and received 3 terrible and different responses, Quartz took the time to personally help me out. After 2 hours of patiently dealing with my craptop, he was able to solve the problem. I was very impressed and didnt think it was possible. He even saved me from buying a macbook! If it wasn't for Quartz, I would still be stressed and over $1500 more broke haha. Thank you so much for your help and solving the issue. You are seriously a very kind, intelligent person and I hope others see that as well. Thanks DJ Quartz, bottle service on me when I see you!

No problem, it was a good experience for me as well because I wanted to know what would cause such an issue right out of the box.

There is a lot of variables when working with Windows in different configurations. I know from working in the field for 20 years now.

I personally switched from a Windows laptop to a Macbook Pro about a year or more ago myself solely for DJ'ing and there is a big different I have to admit.

I spend way more time creating than troubleshooting now and that's how it should be.
