I have a T-1 3.0 External Hard Drive and a external powered 3.0 high speed up both are using 3.0 USB plugs. When I turn on my Serato video, the videos tend to drag and skip. I do not have this problem when I am playing the tracks as Music, even the MP4 Video files (audio only from my external drive).

My Mac Processor is 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory is 4 GB 1333 MHz

System Memory
1.52 GB Free
1.35 GB Active
255.5 MB Inactive
2.49 GB Used

Disk Usage 80 GB Utilized - 419.24 GB Free Space

Disc Activity Read Out 38370 - Write Out 64530

Also, I just remembered that after turning on the video feature on Serato DJ, then going back to audio, my audio tracks would still pause or skip (even those saved on my computer). Could it be because I have multiple seratos installed (scratch live) and various mixer drives (rage 2, 3, 4, etc)?

Hey MannyC,

Thanks for getting in touch. Can you please answer a few questions for me to get us started?
What is your video buffer set to in Setup > Expansion Packs > Serato Video?
How much music/videos do you have in Serato DJ?
The video card in the Mac, do you know the specs? You can find this info in Apple > About this Mac > More info >
Also i'd suggest making sure you've optimised your computer for audio/video:

support.apple.com

Let me know how you go.

My Buffer is in the middle at 1 GB
Delay at 0
USB Buffer (Latency) is at 10 ms

I have 500 Videos on my external drive, non on my Mac

I can't find video specs specially except my mac specs:
Macbook Pro 13 inch, Late 2011
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Boot ROM Version: MBP81.0047.B27
SMC Version (system): 1.68f99

Again, this happens when I used Video DJ only (even when playing audio) not necessarily videos and not just my output display, it happens on my input (serato video on my computer).

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.

You dont have USB3.0 on your laptop... So I would suggest you change Hard drives. Your usb2.0 port is not fast enough for video. Try a thunderbolt drive or firewire800.

If your graphics card is only 384 Mb I recommend setting your Serato Video Buffer to match that. Setting it at 1 Gb will causing issue as as you have stated.

Hello, I changed the Video Buffer to mach the setting at 384 and continue to have the problem.

It does this once I turn on Serato Video. Even if I go back to audio only, it will still pause and drag even my regular tracks saved on my computer not from the external drive (unless I close it and start it up again in just Serato Audio DJ). I can also play the tracks from my external drive when not using Serato Audio only (which are MP-4 videos, but an not displaying the video). It seems that its some sort of glitch or perhaps not supported by my Mac?

DId you not read this? Your hard Drive is not fast enough todo video. Try moving some videos on to your internal Hard drive then see if you are still having the issues.

Oh wait sorry, I didnt read your whole post.

But I still dont know if you have tested what I asked you todo. Move some videos to your internal harddrive and see if you still have issues.

The problem started when I had my Videos on my hard drive. I tried it again and it still does the same thing everytime I am in Serato Video. Again, it doesnt do this when I am using Serato DJ for Audio or playing the tracks from an external drive, including the video MP4's as audio.

Ok I'm still telling you, your hard drive is too slow. What you just said proves that.
