as I play with my new ddjs1 my sound drops and sometimes the platter stops by itself is this a known issue or do I have the bad one out of the bunch?

Thanks for getting in touch with us, can you tell me what type of computer you are using and the full system specifications?
Might i also suggest you upgrade to the latest firmware for your DDJ-S1 and install the latest version Serato DJ, it's an upgrade which you can get for free.
