Hi everyone,

I know that this issue has been described somewhere but just want to share my experience with the DDJ-SX unit.

I purchased the unit about 4 months ago, did not use it for a lot of gigs (2 or 3 maybe).
Yesterday the jog wheels started to become unresponsive. Not all the time at first, be then it went worse...

When pressing the jog in vynil mode, the song did not stop as it should.
See a video of some guy having the same issue:
Watchwww.youtube.com

I did the following to try to solve the issue:
- reformat entirely my mac;
- try it on another computer;
- try with another usb cable;
- updated the firmware;
- start from a blank library;

After some research on forums, I found out that it was a grounding (static electricity) issue. Indeed, when touching the metal case + the jog at the same time, the song would stop.
However I did not find any answer on how to solve the issue and I returned to unit back to Pioneer.

Does anyone knows how to solve this issue?
Is there a way to make the repair yourself?

Thanks for your feedback

Where did you set the sensitivity knobs of the jogs?
There are 2 very small knobs on the right front side of the DDJ SX. Did you try to adjust them?
Set them to 12 o'clock and check if the problem is still there.

Cheers!

Hi Martin,

Yes I tried it all :) also changing the response time in the setup but nothing worked.
It's really a grounding/ (static electricity issue).
I sent the unit back to Pioneer but was wondering if anyone had tried solving the problem by himself.

Hi Seratobel,

I haven't heard too much of this issue.
I'd imagine there are a few defective units and Pioneer will warranty them.

As you don't have the unit with you, we can't do much troubleshooting. Let me know when you get it back and we can try some things then.

I'll close this up for now.

Thanks for the help DJMartin.
