I downloaded and loaded content and restarted serato dj, but I keep getting read only on when I try to load in a loop with no wave form.

I've done all the updates, and the sample packs crate appears, but there is a lock symbol next to the samples , saying " rad only file ", and they wont play in the sampler ? any tips? I'm sure i've missed something

samples are not working for me :( when i drop them from the crate to sample field it shows the name of the sample, but there's no any sound on it...

I followed the instructions and the files are there but no sound associated.

So accessing the samples is as simple as opening up 2.5? It will appear as a crate? One doesn't have to go to the Loopmasters site?

It shows on mY library on my SERATO DJ but is empty, its say read only file" I am a MAC user

its on my library already but the content is empty, Im a Mac user..

same problem. spent a lot of time trying to find the wave/sound. working on a Mac and had trouble w the roll and loop as well.

"Read only" files in crate here as well, no sound when loaded to SP6. Mac 10.6 Snow leopard.

We have something that may be causing an issue with the Loopmasters Sample Content installer for 10.6.8 users.

Is everyone that has reported the issue so far NOT using 10.6.8?

We hope to roll out a fix as soon as possible, please remain patient :)

Thanks for reporting this issue. We have identified an issue with users on 10.6.8. Please check the blog post now, I have uploaded the Loopmasters Sample Content installer directly in step 1.

This issue will be resolved for the Serato DJ and Scratch Live installers as soon as possible.

Just downloaded the sample pack and it works flawless on my windows 7 PC thanks Serato & loopmasters!

Can you make sure the downloaded completed fully? The package should be 15MB in total.

i deleted the old version, i installed the new one and the process failed !!

sorry it's work, i deleted correctly the old version in the serato dj, and i intalled the new one and everything works

Good to hear. So do you mean you deleted the old samples in Serato DJ? Did you initially receive the same error message as Dj Spin posted above?



If you did, then hopefully what you did will work for Dj Spin also!

first you need to open serato dj and delete the "old" sample packs and you closed

you install the new one and when you start serato dj everything works

Works now...had to delete the sample packs bundle from my imported folder (inside _serato_) for it to take.
Still showed "There were errors with the installation. you may want to try installing again. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance" but working now.

excuse my ignorance but how do you perform step #2? i click on: Loopmasters Sample Content.pkg and i have to choose a program to open it. Not sure what to do here. Help!

this is for Mac, if you have a PC you don't need to do that, just make update for PC !!!

Were you unable to just control + shift + delete them from within Scratch Live?

So even though you received the error, the samples installed correctly?

For some reason i did it outside of SSL first and it worked so i didn't actually try control + shift + delete within the program (apologies).
Yes the error showed and the samples still installed and work correctly.

why dont we have the day and night feature for the serato dj ?????

Its something we are still working on djbajajkunal, it will happen in an update at some stage :)

What am I doing wrong....Deleted everything twice now, downloaded again and still not working with Scratch Live or DJ. Read only. Help Please!!!

In which way are you deleting them? From within the software or the OS?

Try going to this location: Music > _Serato_ > Imported > and then trash the "Sample Packs" folder.

Open Scratch Live or Serato DJ, then CTRL + DELETE the Sample Pack Crate and (subcrates) then try running the installer again :)

When Analyzing files, Serato DJ continues to stop and "hang" on the sample files from loopmasters and not continue past them onto the remaining files I still need to analyze.

Having the same problem as everyone else , what's going on ???

Tried again this morning after sleeping on it, still no joy, I give up!!!

Are you guys all on Mac OS X 10.6.8? Did you try downloading the installer from the direct link after step 7?

Had you previously run the installer bundled with the zip file? I recommend starting a help request if you would prefer to be assisted with this issue individually.

I just installed Serato 2.5, restarted Win Xp, installed the Loop package, restarted but when opening Serato, no new crate appears....

I had the same problem. I'm running 10.6.8 and I deleted and downloaded from the link here at step 7 (again and again), but still had the padlocks next to each sample. It was getting on my bloody nerves, so I just decided to load a track even though it still had a padlock next to it, but the file was actually there. The padlock went away after I loaded the track.

So some of you might wanna try loading the tracks even though the padlock is still appearing. It's probably just doing so because of the "old" file.

Cheers for the tip PumpkinHead, it might just be that Serato has still remembered the "lock state" for the previous files, so yes, loading them to the deck or using the "rescan ID3 tags" feature will most likely help.



Hey Gnice3, I think you are the first person to report that on Windows as far as I know. Does the audio play? Do they hang the analyzer? That was what other 10.6.8 users were reporting.

strangely enough the 10.6.8 pack seemed to fix my cpu being maxed out even when the software didn't have any songs loaded.

Weird. I guess you could manually import this Sample Pack through the files panel and make a crate for it?

What do you mean by issues with 1.2? There is no issue in having two different versions on your computer if thats what you mean.

If the Sample crate doesn't show in 1.2.1 its unlikely it will in 1.2, but its worth a shot :)

Yer the audio does play on my old windows vista PC, running Scratch Live 2.5 all works fine.

I have noticed in 1.2.1 the samples don't stay in the SP6 player when you log out and log back in again using the Macbook

Pete input posted a work around on page 5 I had the same problem and I'm running 10.6.8 did what he said and after restart it works

Are you on 10.6.8? Have you tried downloading the specific package for 10.6.8 in the instructions? Have you tried any of the above suggestions about re-analyzing/deleting the samples and reinstalling etc?

Did you try deleting the files from inside Scratch Live AND removing the files from Music > _Serato_ > Imported > Sample Pack?

Do they appear in that location when you run the 10.6.8 specific installer?

Open a terminal, become root, then change the ownership of the files to yourself:

root@> chown -R put-your-username-here /path/to/the/samples

I got in touch with the support team about downloading the loopmasters sample content and they send me this as answer an it worked

Try downloading the Scratch Live 2.5.0 installer, as the Loopmasters sample content was included with that package. You dont need to install Scratch Live 2.5.0 but once you start the installer you should be given the choice to install the Loopmasters Sample Content. Download the Scratch Live 2.5.0 installer here > serato.com

Once you have installed that you can delete or remove the Scratch Live installer.
