Hi DJMark: Judgged by what I daily see when I'm looking at most of the dj that tour the club I'm working at. They all deliver exactly the same playlist everynight (same order, same cue same everything.) They can do that because they play for a different crowd everynight.
And to be honnest that's exactly what I do when i booked outside of the place I'm resident.
I will for sure raise the debate Creativity of live playlist vs Accuracy of a prepared set. But that's not the goal of this topic.
The suggered feature could simply be actived/desactived at the end of the day nobody get hurts of Serato suggest you some "next possible song" while you're playing a song.
I agree about the repetitive rut but once again I'm honnest, I've been dee jaying for 15 years now (from many european countries to USA) and I still use the same "sure shot" routines based on classic tracks that I used to play 15 years ago,
Where creativity must happen (to my opinion) it's when i reharsale, and prepare or work on new stuff. That's the very moment where I try thing , new mix, try to integrate new tracks to my library. That's also why I'd suggest that the "database" should be based on the last 200 set you played and not only on the crates or you last 10 dj sets.
Does it make more sense like this ?
