when i unplug the usb cord from my mac, itch freezes up instead of reverting to preview mode like normal scratch live. i have no problems when unplugging from scratch live, only with itch. i re-uploaded new itch drivers, but still same problem. becomes annoying now. any suggestions? i even tried other versions of itch but no change.

Thanks for getting in touch,

We recommend you connect everything before launching ITCH and disconnect everything once the program has closed.

1. Has this "hot plugging" ITCH freeze always happened for you?
-- Or has it only just started happening?

2. Is your ITCH library the same as your Scratch Live library?
-- Or do you run a different library / external drive?

3. How big is your ITCH music library?

4. Are you using iTunes to organise your music?
-- How big is your iTunes music library?

Thanks :)

my library i use the same library as scratch. i built my crates manually instead of using iTunes. i created the folders in my music folder and made the identical crates in sera to to correspond. the freezing began only with my ns7 controller since i got it. i previously had a dell but it worked fine and i transferred all my previous crates from my dell unto an external hd to to transfer to my mac. everyone else's mac and laptop works fine when u unplug from my NS7. i was considering re-doing my OS to see if that will help. i have up to 30,000 songs in my library.

Hey DJ Mavryk,

Thanks for that information.

For some users "hot plugging" in ITCH causes this crash problem on close.
Its very strange behaviour...

ITCH will no longer be getting updates, however you own a NS7 which means you can download Serato DJ and use this with your NS7 for free.

Serato DJ will continue to get developed.

Try the following,

1. Download Serato DJ 1.2.
-- Download Here --> serato.com
2. Install Serato DJ.
3. Connect your NS7 controller. Power it ON.
4. Launch Serato DJ.

Does your NS7 connect correctly?
Can you close and open the application correctly?

Let me know how you get on :)

Thanks!

Hey DJ MavryK,

Sounds good, please let me know how you get on.

If you still have issues we can look at doing a fresh install of your NS7 drivers / Serato DJ Library to see if that has any affect on "hot plugging".

Thanks.

soo...i downloaded as u said, launched serato dj, everything loaded, but when i unplugged the USB, alas,,,same thing again. so im back to square 1. so that means we are the point where a fresh install of NS7 drivers / serato dj library is recommended? initially i was thinking of re-doing my OS and see if that will help. so...advise please

Hey Dj Mavryk,

Sorry it has taken me a couple days to get back to you!

I think the best thing to do first is remove the NS7 drivers and reinstall them.
-- If that doesn't work then move onto reinstalling the OS.

Follow these instructions.

Remove Audio Driver
1. Navigate to your Macintosh HD / APPLICATIONS folder.
2. Find the Numark NS7 Audio driver from your list of applications.
3. Drag it to your RUBBISH bin.

Remove Midi Driver
1. Navigate to your Macintosh HD / APPLICATIONS folder.
2. Open the UTILITIES folder.
3. Open AUDIO MIDI SETTINGS
4. On your Mac top task bar click "WINDOW"
5. Open the "SHOW MIDI WINDOW"
6. Locate your NS7 Audio device and delete it.

Once this has been done, restart your computer.

Reinstall Drivers

1. Download Numark NS& audio drivers.
-- Download Here --> www.numark.com
2. Once drivers are installed. RESTART computer again.
3. Plug in your NS7 and test Serato DJ.

Do you still have the same issues?
-- Test both USB ports

Thanks.
