PROFFESIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Ive been a DJ now for well over 10yrs, I worked my way up from a BD10 Belt Drive Gemini Turntable and a Gemini 2 channel mixer and aguitar amp as a speaker,to my first Used pair of Tech 1200's i bought used at a thrift shop, House parties,weddings,community center parties..to club openings..local mixtapes..then my first real jolt after paying dues was landing a DJ position with my homies SPORTY THIEVZ, Toured All over the world off that "Pigeons" record...From there solo toured in Europe as a DJ playing mass clubs in Germany the UK and from there on to Canada. I have been the official and Tour DJ for Christina Milian "Amazin Tour", Bobby Valentino (Current), Black Buddafly (Current) and Shareefa (Current). Still heavy in the clubs, Still on Tour..and with so many international dates i decided i had enough of paying additional airport fee's etc with the crates..so i limit the crates from 6 to 2 and now roll with Serato for all international dates...Thanks to the inspiration from my homie the Legendary KID KAPRI, if not for him id still be on Viynl only.
SERATO EXPERIENCE - Im a new user of Scratch Live. In all honesty i love the consept but the only reason why i purchased it is because i do a lot of international gigs and with the new age of cdj's and serato and the under cutting of dj's who have less than 3yrs experience taking crumbs to dj and these lame promoters buying into it, it's getting tough with the rise in cost at airports with additional luggage (crates) and in addition the pay is getting lower as well so i had to adjust, but id rather take 6 crates to a party any day! thats one of the true elements of dj'ing, it goes beyond just playing music...its like taking away spray paint cans from a graph artist and telling him to use a digital pen that controlls an arm that will spray the paint itself....
It's not the same.
And real dj's know it.
