Serato is Ten

2008 marks the Ten Year Anniversary of Serato Audio Research, a New Zealand based company specializing in recording plug-ins and Digital DJ software. Serato sent shockwaves through the recording industry with the unveiling of their flagship time-stretching and pitch-shifting product, Pitch ’n Time in 1999, created by Steve West and AJ Bertenshaw.

In the years to follow, Serato would prove that innovation is a hallmark of the company.

In 2004, the DJ industry was revolutionized when Serato released the popular vinyl emulation system, Scratch LIVE. The system allows DJs to mix and scratch files from their computer using regular turntables or CDJs and is used by some of the top artists in the world.

To this day, Serato Audio Research continues to engineer leading audio tools. The launch of the new software ITCH shows the relationships that Serato are developing with different hardware companies. With sights firmly set on the future, Director Stephen West takes time to reflect:

“It is amazing to see this little New Zealand company that started in a warehouse, enjoy as much success on the international stage as we have in the last ten years.”

“We would like extend our gratitude to all of our customers for their continued support and loyalty as well as our entire online community for helping us develop the best software possible.”

“Also, to Rane Corporation, our Scratch LIVE hardware partner, we appreciate the great working relationship we have with you and the dedication your company has towards producing the highest quality products.”

“We look forward to the future of Serato product development and hope that we can continue this success for many years to come.”
