Bloc Weekend - Day 1

Day one of Bloc Festival is done and dusted out here in Minehead (out by Bristol in the UK). Bloc is a music festival held at Butlins, a family holiday park. Butlins is pretty weird - big butterflies on the ceilings, arcade machines, obstacle courses, lots of family entertainment. Take away the families and add about 6000 ravers and you have Bloc.

We're here with Ableton and Novation, and we have a stand with about four setups for people to come down and have a play on. We're right next to the RDIF Ableton Dome, where Ableton will be hosting Ableton demos throughout the weekend with Al Tourettes, Addison Groove and more.

We've had the golden Novation Launchpad and gold Rane Sixty-Eight setup here, which has proven popular with the punters. It's the first time I've seen then as well, and I'm tempted to stash them in my luggage to take home with me.

The lineup at the festival is ridiculous! Hugely UK influenced, and features lots of Serato friends like Ikonika, Rustie, SBTRKT, Addison Groove, Toddla T, Ramadanman, Drop The Lime, Roska, L-Vis 1990 and the list goes on. Last night, we managed to catch a few people:

We'll be at Bloc all weekend for anyone that wants to come down and hang out, play a few tunes and tell jokes. Stay tuned for more updates!
