This article explains how to create and edit a Beatgrid in Serato ITCH.

CREATING A BEATGRID

AUTOMATICALLY ADD A BEATGRID

Step one: Re analyze your files in ITCH 1.6.

ITCH will attempt to automatically add a Beatgrid to the track when analyzing files.

A downbeat marker will be placed on the track's first beat. The analyzed BPM value will then be used to place the rest of the Beatgrid throughout the track.

Step Two: Use the platter to scroll throughout the track and see if the Beatgrid is falling correctly on the beats.

  • If they are lined up correctly, then there is nothing further you need to do -  your Beatgrid is correctly set up!
  • If the Downbeat Marker is incorrect it is better to delete the Beatgrid and then manually add a Beatgrid.
  • If the Downbeat Marker is correct, but the rest of the Beatgrid isn't correct you will need to edit the Beatgrid.

NOTE: To delete the Beatgrid, hold down SHIFT and press SET to clear (CLR) each of the Beatgrid's Markers until none are left and the Beatgrid disappears. CLR will delete the closest Beatgrid Marker.

NOTE: In the offline player press Alt + Shift + mouse click to clear the Beatgrid Marker closest to the mouse position.
