About the iLok

All Serato plug-ins are authorized using an iLok™ USB dongle.

Why the iLok?

Serato is using iLok authorization for the following reasons:

• The iLok can hold over 100 cross-platform authorizations from many different manufacturers (for example: Antares, Bomb Factory, McDSP, Digidesign, Steinberg)
• The authorization on an iLok is unaffected by hard drive failures
• iLok authorizations are portable, and hot-swappable between different rigs.
• When upgrading your computer, you can simply pull out you iLok, and plug it into your new computer.

iLok Authorization

Authorizing your Serato plug-in involves the following steps:

• Registering your plug-in to have an authorization sent to your iLok.com account (Scratch studio edition is an exception).
• Logging into your iLok.com account to transfer the authorization to your iLok.

30 day iLok demo licenses of our plug-ins can be obtained from the downloads page. You will need to know your iLok.com user ID.

Purchasing an iLok

If you do not own an iLok you can purchase one at all good music production retailers, or at our online store.

Pitch 'n Time LE can be purchased with an iLok included. Look for a box with an "iLok™ included" sticker (with a red iLok, right) instead of the regular "iLok™ required" sticker (with a blue iLok, above).
