Enabling Dr Watson
This how-to details enabling crash dumping for Windows XP.
Why would I want to do this?
Crash dumping is handy to help solve crashing problems for users experiencing crashing while using Serato software. If the application crashes while you have crash dumping enabled you can upload the crash dump file to Serato and we will try and diagnose the problem.
Instructions
Click the Start button
Click Run
Type drwtsn32 and hit enter
Dr Watson will start.
Recommended settings are:
Log File Path: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson
Crash Dump: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp
Number of Instructions: 10
Number of Errors to Save: 10
Crash Dump Type: Full
Dump Symbol Table: Yes
Dump All Thread Contexts: Yes
Append to Existing Log File: No
Visual Notification: Yes
Sound Notification: No
Create Crash Dump File: Yes
Click Ok.
When you next have a crash, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\ and upload the file user.dmp
In the upload you must detail what build number you're using.
To get your build number, check the bottom right corner of your setup screen.
