How To: Get a Crash Dump in Windows Vista and Windows 7
Windows can be set up to create a mini-dump file every time you experience a crash using Vista or Windows 7. This how-to explains how to obtain and then upload this crash dump to us for troubleshooting purposes.
Note: Before doing this please start a new help thread here: http://www.serato.com/help/request
(Include details on your problem and your full system specifications.)
Instructions
- Download this file: http://serato.com
- Unzip the file
- Run the file: SeratoLocalDumpsOn.reg
- Press ‘continue’ when prompted by Windows account control
- Press ‘yes’ to add to registry
From here you will need to wait until you experience another crash then do the following:
- Run the file: CrashDumps - Shortcut.lnk
- Move the last “.dmp” crash dump file to your desktop.
- Attach the crash dump file to your help thread.
- A browser window will open, navigate to your desktop and attach the dump file.
