I don't know how it is possible for me to have missed this device until now!
sparklive.net
I want out soooo bad
and then because that wasn't enough I found a 4x triplehead type thing www.datapath.co.uk
Has anyone use this datapath device before? anyone ever heard of them?

Anybody else know of any hardware like this or any other cool tools that might be worth looking at....
on a side note I have spent all day today mapping resolume and ME together I can't wait to show you guys.

I've read about that TV One processor on VJForums, but as that guy points out in the video, it's always seemed incredibly complicated and impenetrable.
So that thing looks amazing. Not cheap, but compared to what else is out there, a bit of a bargain.
If I had £900 knocking around... I'd be all over it. Good find!

I swear it said £700 on the site.
And yes thats not cheap, but vind me any other video mixer the compact and can mixer VGA HDMI or DVI let alone all 3. I was looking into the new V4 but its $1700 and only does VGA and is not HD and would fuck up my use of a triplehead2go.

£700 + VAT... That's 20% in the UK. You foreigners might avoid that but you'll probably get stung for import duty, I think.

YA i figured we would get hit on import duty, but still not %20. My biggest worry is the conversion rate. CAD is doing well but still not that well.

I gave the new video rig a good run last saturday night and it worked flawlessly! Going to do a short video this week sometime. (i say short and it will be like 20min i bet)

Looking forward to it Code:E
I actually don´t do any regular video-djing, I only du audio when I dj, even though I have both SV and ME.
But I have gotten into live visuals lately, as I have a background in Motion Graphics.
Running Resolume and MadMapper currently. Need to get hold of a dual/triple head connection. I guess the matrox TripleHead2GoDP (display port edition) is the one I want right? Looking to hook up either 2 or 3 projectors...
Btw, My visuals computer is a 17" i7 mpb, last generation made....
Heres some examples from a few weeks ago:
1. Watchvimeo.com
2. Watchvimeo.com

I dont like the Display port one. I like the DVI one best. It have both DVI and VGA in which means it will support an HDMI in with a converter. It also has DVI out which can be converted with adaptors to either VGA or HDMI. I think the DVI one gives you the most hook up options.
Same computer I have

Thanks Code:E !
But who the F uses VGA anymore?
I was told by a fewvisuals guys that DP was more stable,
compared to the older DVI version. Heard anything about that Code:E?
As far as I understand the DP has DP in, DVI out.
Well, going to my local computer store tomorrow to pick it up, if there´s anything else Ive missed, Id love to be educated.

Everyone.
I use VGA in more setup than anything else. Its the most cost effect way for high (er) quality video. Not every venue pays the money for HDMI baylands. And the all the big tech companies around here all use VGA in there video setups. 100 foot runs of VGA are most cost effect than HDMI.

Nope. But DP to anything adaptors are more expensive and I have NEVER seen a video matrix or any video hardware with displayport (by hardware I mean LED video wall controller, video mixers and matrixes)

Well if thats true is the DVI capable of being converted down to VGA with a simple converter. Not all DVI is, so i would check into that. But since your buying it from a store I would buy it test it and return it if it doesn't work.

Thanks, great advice Code:E.
Im just getting into this stuff. Where I´m from, there aren´t many many LED screens at all,
most stuff is done by projectors. To be honest, projection and projection mapping is what I´m looking into, not "regular" video dj´ing. The professionals I talked to, all frowned on VGA quality, not sure why? Analog being inferior?

I would think so and it clearly is inferior. But cost effective. Unlimited budget I would have half a dozen 5k projectors. PLus all the adaptors. VGA is just everywhere. Like every projector out there has vga. And that what i mostly do too.

+1 on VGA
It's cheap, everything has a VGA jack, resolution options are great, long runs are typically problem-free

VGA isn't finicky like the rest. VGA is reliable and looks great, HDMI is really really picky and doesn't always work on everything.

It would be quite difficult, especially without an A-B comparison staring you in the face, to tell the difference between properly-set-up HDMI and VGA (or component) video setups.
The HDCP problems with HDMI are more of an issue now than they were a few years ago, since it's become more difficult to find HDMI switchers/splitters that aren't crippled by that pointless attempt at copy-protection.
Aside from HDCP, probably the biggest thing I've found that screws up video systems is electrical ground loops. The bigger the system (different displays plugged into different power circuits) the more chance of that happening.
On analog systems that results in ripples (severity depending on how much of a ground loop there is). Easily cured by using baluns (which incorporate isolation transformers) and CAT6 cables.
On HDMI setups I've seen ground loops cause everything from "flaky" connectivity to equipment failure. Again, baluns incorporating isolation transformers are a big help (as well as switchers/splitters that are properly designed with protection against ground loops).
