I've posted a list of issues im having with SDJ and gotten no response. As a long time Serato User having spent alot of money on your products, Id expect that type of thing would come before helping someone locate the delete button on their keyboard.

BTW
DJMOOMOO,
the correct command is Command (apple) + Delete (backspace?) however if your settings are configued to activate launchpad, spaces, expose etc (depending on what osx your running) This will overide the delete command in serato

Try:
Using the Cmd button on the other side or disabling the feature linked to it. Also make sure you are selecting the song under the 'ALL' section at the top of the crate list as deleting the song from a crate will ONLY remove it from the crate.

Hi djmoomoo,

Try "cmd" and the backspace button (<---), does that work for you?

As I stated in the beginning no combination of keys cmd or ctrl or anything works.
Selecting "Info" tells me that the right combination should be ctrl + back space.

And now I noticed that IS the case. I can delete tracks if I close and re-open the serato dj software, but only if that is the first thing I do after opening the software.

If I for example have chosen the "Info" and then closed "info" or chosen "music" or "all" the deleting is no more possible. Only way to proceed with deleting is to close the dj-software once again and re-open it and do deleting before anything else.

djmoomoo,

If you rename the databasev2 file in the _Serato_ folder are you able to delete files?

Renamed the folder again with the same name. Deleting works fine (for now at least).

Thanks a bunch

I was too hasty. Same problem still. what can it be?
djmoomoo 8:43 AM - 26 May, 2013
Further notion, it appears I only can delete tracks that are all ready missing.

djmoomoo,

Are you using iTunes to manage your music? If you are trying to delete music from itunes you'll have to delete it there first.

Yes I am. So I have to always go to iTunes to in order to delete tracks and then back to Serato-dj. Would really be easier if it would be possible to do directly in Serato-dj. Thanks anyway.

djmoomoo,

I can understand that. The reason for this is that Serato can write and edit tracks but can't delete them from itunes. It only reads the iTunes xml file. To resolve this issue, consider migrating from iTunes to Serato Crates and file management. Here is a handy article on how to do that -
