I just recently ordered a MC2000 and am awaiting it via the mail. I have been doing some research in the interim and haven't found anything that says I can hook up my ipod and use my music on it with the controller itself. It sounds like all the music has to be on your computer (most likely in MP3 format) and loaded from there. My question is, can you hook up an ipod (either through my computer or directly to the unit) and drag/load my music directly from the ipod to the MC2000? Hope this makes some sense and thanks in advance for any help.

Hey Matt.Kurtz,

Unfortunately no, you can't use the controller with your iPod like that. You can use Serato DJ Intro with the iTunes library however. This controller is made to work with laptops/computers not iPods etc.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response it was very helpful and informing. Just as a follow up question; based on your response it sounds like Serato DJ Intro can be used with the iTunes library. Does that mean the songs I have in my iTunes library will work with Serato DJ intro and the controller and if so could you explain how to do it? Again thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Matt,

Yes that is correct. When you open up Serato DJ Intro, by default you should see the (iTunes music icon) Library on the left in the crates, CD's and playlist window. You can access all of your iTunes playlists and music here.

If you do not see this 'Library' there simply go up to the 'Setup' icon which takes you to the setup window. Then enable 'Show iTunes Library'.

Let me know if you get stuck and i'll help you further.
